Man, Anthrocon was fun. I also probably spent more than I reasonably should have, but it was fun!
I had at least two dozen people for my panel, there seemed to be a lot of interest in the topic, I ended up obtaining a lot more things for the collection - 421 items, if my count was correct - and met a lot of people in person for the first time or the first time in a long time.
I did hit fewer panels than I intended - in fact, I think I only got to two aside my own, the How To Start A Convention, and the Mustelid Meet. The former wasn't as useful as I thought it would be, and the latter was dominated by otters - out of 38 people, 20 were otters. I've also been invited to help co-host the Mustelid Meet next AC xD

Oh! I also got engaged to
schmozy, and in seeing people's reactions to that, I'm reminded of the old saying: "A sorrow shared is sorrow decreased; a joy shared is joy increased." Some people were more excited than Schmozy and I were, I think!

Regarding my panel... I will GLADLY TAKE FEEDBACK I HAVE HAD ONLY ONE PERSON GIVE ME FEEDBACK IN ANY DEPTH
Your written notes were really great, and I could tell the effort and detail you had put into the talking portion. But it was information overload by the end of the panel. And you need help. You need a few co-collectors to help share the burden of doing 3-4 small panels. Get Scott Ruggles up there with you. And that lady who's name I forgot. Maybe Rabbi Tom? See what I mean? You need a bigger room too, and more prep time. Get on Con Creative and bust their chops. The DLLCC is big enough, they can find you a spot.
I think you are really on to something with this history stuff. You're not just collecting, you've crossed over into archiving for future generations. Yeah, that's heavy. But you're doing it naturally and organically. And I will be there as often as I can.
Oh, and when you guys set a date, please let me know. I may not be able to be there (work/life balance, eh?) but I'll be there in spirit. And I need an address for the wedding gift!
