hey everyone, I'm not really sure what to do with journals anymore--I haven't been on a site that's had a journal function in a pretty long while (not since ye olde deviantart days). I figured I'd pop on and say hey though, since I'm shiny and new here.
so... hey!
I'm Eli, I'm generally pretty new to the world of furries--I started out last fall drawing my good good kenku boy Trill for the DnD campaign I'm in, and then since then have just slowly drifted into drawing more and more birds. I've been drawing for a pretty long time and spent a real long time just drawing people and still lives. I've got a BA and I'm going to be embarking on an MFA very shortly and this is kind of my de-stressing art.
I have a presence on a few other sites, especially on tumblr where my url is 51seven and I've been posting art on there for a while. you'll see some stuff there that's not on here yet, I'm pushing through my backlog of art and trying not to spam this place all at once. so eventually most of that will be over here.
other than that, hi! I'm friendly, no need to be shy about chatting with me, I'm just trying to figure out how I fit into the community here + make some friends.

I really dig ur bird designs and I think it'd cool they started as a DnD thing! My interest was more from the anime route lol. What kind of BA & MFA?
Also I'm debating if I want to paint a nightjar today!
I went to school for psych/painting in undergrad and now I'm going back for printmaking/book arts. :0

Also magpies are like on my top 5 birds, love their iridescence <3
top 5 birds sounds like a hard list to make omg. I'm not sure how I'd choose.
And yeah it's super informal but it's something like?? Magpies, pigeons, nightjars, caracara, and vultures. not enough room for hoatzins tho so it's clearly imperfect lol
i'm a big fan of peacocks, cockatoos, kinda more flamboyant birds in general haha. the fact my dnd characters are both more muted colors is kind of a shock.
