I would think it would be the case of him waking up with his head in the mount of a bear, and rest of him already down the bear's throat. Gives him just enough time to work out what is going on before he's finally swallowed down.

Swallowing them headfirst when you find them asleep makes it so they can't yell for hell if they wake up halfway down, though. 83 The otter in a couple of my recent stories swallowed people feetfirst, though that was because the first person he ate was so drunk he mistook the otter for an animal themed sleeping bag.

I guess that's true. I guess it's just how I would like to wake up while being eaten. :)

You wrote 'worse' when you meant to type 'better'.

He and the other campers were resting inside snack pouches! Willing to bet they followed 0 bear protocols for camping, dangerous to interrupt a bear while its eating.

This story has inspired me to draw something related to this.... >:)
