Met some old friends. :) Discussed kaiju eiga and so on.
Got some Shin Godzilla books, brand new.
The opening ceremonies was awesome. Robert Scott Field, Shinji Higuchi, Michiru Ooshima, Yuji Kaida, Kazuhiro Nakagawa, Kiyotaka Taguchi, and Tony Isabella.
Meeting Academy Award director Higuchi was amazing. XD He was so happy how we fans reacted to Shin Gojira that he cried. "Thank you very much, thank you very much."

For furries, I saw a couple at a costume contest while there, full on wolf kaiju suits. :)
I found out from one of my friends there that actress Megumi Odaka nearly got a cameo in Shin Gojira as the scene during the first attack of the second form of Gojira, was filmed near Megumi's home and she almost wanted to be an uncredited cameo, but changed her mind given how some fans are. Who knew. She nearly had a cameo in the new film, but not as Miki Saegusa, but as an extra caught up in the disaster of a kaiju attack.
My friend who met Megumi in person said she is very kind, funny, and sweet. She's not as shy as she was in 2000 for those who went back then to G-fest (I didn't begin until 2007).
Some fans jammed to Michiru Ooshima's music during the guest intro video which made her laugh seeing how fans did that. :)
This is day 1 folks. Tomorrow is day 2.
