Yeah, definitely not worth using Skype anymore, it's seriously junk.
Telegram or Discord seem to be your best bets for alternatives these days~ =P

Im afraid they dont even need to hack your skype account anymore to send virus URLS, they use specified bots that can utilize your account be it with or without hacking your account, microsoft has not done anything about it and most likely does not plan to do anything, you can see skype as basicly abandoned as they have not updated the security since 2010

Use Discord instead. :y

I found out that one virus not need to access your skype account at all, they just pick your user and send a random link, you could even have your skype account open while the message is sent (happened to me).

That is one of the reason of why i barely use Skype (the other being the constant crashed of the app itself thanks to some adds)
