I was taking pictures and videos of the elephant seals at Piedras Blancas, CA today and lucked into taking this short video of a coyote loping along the beach right by them. Just before this video starts he ran by a group of 15-20 of them, almost stepping on their fins.

Can't say I've had THAT happen, but I DID have a dingo attach my beachcombing bag and run off with a neat crab I'd found. And of course tourists HAVE to feed them, then are surprised when they get bit.

'Yoties are usually too wild to do that with. Had a friend with a 1/2 yotie-1/2 german shepherd that was unapproachable even by him. He kept it chained up in the back yard and left food and water for it was all he knew to do. I tried to befriend it and it would first shit, then try to attack me, even though it knew it couldn't get to me. Strange beast!

BTW this was nearly 50 years ago when people didn't shiv a git about animals, and it was in Utah. If you know anything about the states, you know that at the borders to Utah there is a sign that reads 'Welcome to Utah, Please set your watches back 100 years.' Truth!!

I hear ya, out in the sticks here you get similar lines, you can breed a dog for docility and you can breed a dog for viciousness. There's still regular thefts of smaller dogs on the city limits, they're used as training fodder for the big dog fighting rings.

It'd be hard to find a place where they're not. This is also why breed bans have failed the world over (About 50 times so far.) It's seldom the dog, usually the owner.
