Small victory at Wally World for Furry kind.

Seems the RoC sees money in making merchandise for Furries and animal lovers of America. I had noticed before that there was a little bit of stuff around Halloween. Like a basic fox head piece and simple tail. That tends to make sense. But, in the last year or two, there's been a bit more then that. Like sleep ware. (That moose sleep outfit was surprisingly higher quality then expected.) Animal slippers. Knick Knacks. And now, something I totally was never expecting. Full heads. Mascot/Fursuit heads. This drop box is waiting in my branch's back room, right now. Inside a large drop bin that is decorated with full color images of what is inside, are various animal heads. I don't think they are quite like the normal construction. Thinking more like a fluffy printed pillow, or something. I'm sure these things will be showing up at cons, too. Look real weird as an incomplete partial, like some display I used to see at a mall store with mannequins that wore TV's on their heads.
Can't fully tell until these actually hit the floor. But, looks like all the 'fun' of being suffocated by a pillow without the vital spot across the maw that actually keeps the person from breathing. And it's come way too early for Halloween. So...it's just a random 'thing'.
I guess this can mean that Wal-Mart is going Furry the only way it understand...on the profit margin. Expect random customers to slip one of these things on while shopping. Actually, that's going to be a rather gross thing to think about if seriously going to purchase one of these things.
EDIT: These things have moved remarkably quickly. Don't think the cardboard drop bin stayed put for two weeks. My branch had these heads placed upon a top shelf in the clothing department. They were being re-arranged daily and seemed to be selling out at a rapid rate. I looked at where the box was and a couple heads were in go back shopping carts.
Almost sold out inside a month. And I do ponder why.

meanwhile, in england...
Been quite some time since I've had access to PBS, which is about the only England feed in the US...aside from this wondrous internet thing.

I saw a box full of those heads at a wally world in Howell, MI.
Was pondering if those would be distributed to all branches or not. Other questions too...like quality build and practicality.

I guess they've had these in Eureka for awhile now. A pic of some random person wearing one on the street was recently posted on our county's WTF Humboldt Facebook page. At first glance, I thought it was a candid pic of one of our local suiters, but other comments mentioned these heads were being sold at WalMart.
Yea. There's this yearly little event that happens near the beach. And one booth seller has been selling tails. (The real things.) So, I've noticed a few random people just wearing those for the day. I just don't know what to think about it, really.
The other week, they were putting what was left of those heads up on a shelf in the clothing department. Didn't take long at all to sell those out.
