So, patreon??
I've been looking into it for awhile now and I think I'm finally ready to get more serious about creating a patreon and setting aside content each month specifically for supporters.
Now I don't want this to become a paywall at all, because I love making my work freely available to everyone. However, I do have sketches, full resolution images, and few other things that never make it into my galleries and I think this is the kind of stuff I'd release to paying supporters.
I'd also like to incorporate more audience feedback into the projects I work on (think adoptables, pin ups, merch design, process videos, etc!) and I'm wondering if patreon exclusive polls would also be a good place to explore that?
If you have any ideas/input I'd love to hear it! What are some things that might encourage you to support me on patreon? What tier levels are you most attracted to?
If you have any experience on the creator side of patreon I'd love to hear from you too, so give me a shout! I'm just a crotchety old man terrified of new things, but boy do I try.

But I see where you're coming from too, and that's definitely something I'll keep in mind if/when this comes to fruition.
So in short, do what you wanna do, how you wanna do it! I use mine for early content, asks, requests, tutorials, sketches and comics. So basically as a catchall for my nsfw content =o theres public and private content on there <3. I personally patron folks for high res and early content! (especially comics, oooooo <3 )
Suggestions: Sketches are nice, polls are engaging; you can consider discounts/first dibs, patron-only streams, a pool of requests (but NOT raffles as it's against Patreon's TOS), and stuff like art packs/tutorials. I personally run a Discord server where Patron's get special access to a closed channel which has been working for me.
I had no idea raffles weren't allowed either, so that's one future crisis thwarted (,: I really like the idea of a discord server too, gosh this gives me so much more to think about.
I honestly recommend ko-fi and other tip-jar like stuff for extra support, but in your case I think high rez images and other stuff could be viable as something not too constricting and marketable. So do what works for you and I'll try to support you as best I can. ^^
Doing all of this is hard when you have to take on a full load of commissions in order to pay your bills each month.
Patreon was created to help creators earn a sustainable income, while also giving fans a means to aid them in their creative quests if they can afford it. It's a great thing, and I'm not sure why you think it is not an appropriate site for what he is looking to do.
