SoFurry Account Issue
General
I've received a few PMs now about my SoFurry page being deleted/gone/not-present/removed.
I check both FA and SF a few times a day and have been unable to access SoFurry lately-- I had simply thought their site was down. Now that I've received a heads-up it appears that there is an error of some kind that has caused my presence on SF to be "absent". This was not of my doing and I have no intention of removing my presence from SoFurry.
I'm waiting to hear from the admin so I can increase my understanding of events. I will, of course, continue to post here on FurAffinity and will catch up on my posts over on SF when my page becomes available again.
Thanks for your concern, your support, and your patience.

Recent update - Spam, harddrives, and how I learned to love FSCK
Credited to: Toumal
It's been quite the eventful day! First we had a spam attack, which was the result of someone registering bogus accounts for more than 2 weeks, then using them all at once to post spam. While that was easy to block, we did accidentally prune a regular user account. We still have the submission data so we'll be able to restore that, but still, very embarassing. Sorry for that!
Then the site went down. Turns out, we replaced a disk recently, which suddenly shows drive errors. This is the second time and the old disk turned out fine, so now we know it's the drive controller that's bad. So we'll have to replace that, luckily it's not a lot of money. What we don't know yet is why the cluster quorum didn't work, we'll have to investigate that separately. Normally that db failure should not have taken the site down.
Anyway, it's rarely a good sign when the phone rings at 5am in the morning ;)

Thanks for the update. At least it's good to know that whatever's going on with me isn't too much of a surprise and should be fixable. :)
