Things are starting to happen...

Rebroadcasted, since I know most of you are not on my Facebook Critters cartoony page, or otherwise away from my ragin' Cajun liberal FB ranting and raving and general news-sharing...
Before you ask, regretfully, no - I don't have any new artwork to show you guys. As I wrote in my last post, Michi was about six months pregnant with our first. And well, now she's nine, and with two weeks to go, it's all hands on deck as far as getting ready for the new arrival!
Art-wise, suffice it to say that I simply don't know when I'll be getting back to my drawing desk again. Right now my focus is getting ready for the birth. After that, who knows? Certainly I'll be taking some weeks off for paternity leave, but with a new baby I can't even begin to say what I'll be doing or when I'll be doing it, or even why with that down time (except for changing dirty diapers and seeing what it's like to function without sleep). But rest assured, I'll still commit pencil to paper when I'm able. It's just a matter of time.
Until then, thanks for visiting, thanks for the support, and see you next time!

You know, back in the day, I would have sworn I had no interest in kids. Indeed, one of the things I dreaded the most about dealing with a baby is having to change a crap-filled diaper. But you know, right from the start - right there in the hospital - the sight of such didn't bother me the least. I also originally dreaded the stench. Turns out there isn't one - or at least, not much of one. I don't know it its maturity, or the fact that whatever mess or stink that Jr. can do, daddy could do far, FAR worse, but I'm finding that some of the things I most feared about babies really isn't as bad as I made them out to be in my mind.
Best parenting book I read was "I"m Okay, You're Okay." My family has some very bad parenting habits. This gave me good alternates.
