I know how you feel. Same way, but everyone around me still freaks. Work at a hotel and they're like "Yeeeah you're staying with us for 4 days to make sure shit doesn't go down." I'm just all: "Hey, means I ain't gotta spend gas"... Maybe I take things too casually.

here's the deal with that as far as people dealing with storms... depending how strong your house is, your house can survive harsh winds that is going like 150+ mph. that doesn't include trees not being uprooted and tossed against your house or the like of anything else. Unless you're at a lucky spot where you don't need to worry about cars/trees and what not hitting you. It's just to precaution for people that need to prep up in case of power outage for a while till they can get the power poles back up in some areas where the power lines are not in underground. So a lot of people can freak out for good reasons if they weren't ready for a lot of things. So I can see what you're saying about not worrying about the storm much unless it really took out important stuff.

Yea, and since I'm from the Caribbean, my family been dealing with this stuff naturally, and also florida deals with this naturally too, thus why in some areas there isnt much power poles cause our power is situated underground. Then there's the fact I'm living in an inner area of Florida than costal, we do have a lil bit of a problem right now cause we been getting hit with heavy rains just some areas have a built up of water which I'm not around any of those as my neighborhood isnt a flood zone. I'm more worried about my folks who live in a two story house surrounded by a small forest, though they are at a higher elevation than I am (Mt Dora's 184 to Orlandos 82). I may have to stay the whole weekened here in orlando to help my job fully shut and seal the place before we really get hit on monday. not to mention once it makes landfall it will get weaker
