Certainly will! We're stocked up and hunkering down. In my part of the peninsula, we're expecting tropical force winds. The terrain should hold off the worst effects of Irma. There is no storm surge to worry about here, but they're will be rain and localized flooding of streets. We'll likely get a whipping of 40-60 mph winds sustained, 70mph peaks. Enough to lose power, internet and possibly a tree or two along the way. The northbound roads are all clogged up. My neighbors went north, leaving their excess water on my porch and pool gate unlocked, we can dip 5 gal. buckets out of it in the event of power failure and need to wash items or flush toilets with it. I think they would have been better off in place, but they really didn't want to be here.
The county is dry. No gas, no propane, no water, little to dwindling diesel still, more than half of the gas pumps I have seen in the past 24hrs bagged off. Crazies everywhere in a panic for last minute items, batteries, etc. No generators to sell, all stock sold out on labor day. I have to stay with my mum, pets, there is no shelter I can take them all to. But we have plenty of food, bottled water, batteries... Been charging every battery I have from cameras to truck and tractor if we need them... Easy to convert some PowerShot and camcorder li-ion packs to run weather radios, scanners, etc. Without power, I know I will be bored. Without internet? *Shudder* So I'll tinker and try not to set my work bench in fire. ^.^
Pray for us, anyone else not as fortunate... Yeah, even the retards that think they can weather it out in Miami and the keys in their single story bungalows. Storm surge at the coast is expected to be 15 feet, plus... They have no hope of not drowning imo. :(
I have a "lake" or back behind the house. But I also get free passage to access the withalacooche headwaters park. That water is deep and cold. Lol. ^.^
It's hitting the West Coast of Florida...And is a reduced Cat 2, but still...Hope you are doing okay, love. Tampa is getting it all right now. Miami I think lucked out big time. >.>! I am super glad, but still anxious.
Power has been out since about 11:25pm, SundaySunday. Looks like a war zone here. More than 2/3's district without food, power, gas, water...unable to obtain/but more without power, network, etc. So still sitting in, fighting the mosquitoes as I write from my magic spot on the back yard that managed a bar or two if the att tower is still working. ^.^

That said, Gentle's 'explosions' can be more volumous than a 15' storm surge. You'd think Floridians would be used to it by now!
