Hey folks!
I was curious to know if some of you has gotten the last monster game on 3Ds, or are fan of the monster hunter franchise in general ? I just got the new game and i'm pretty impatient to start playing at it as the demo was promising. It's quite a new type of gameplay whit that monster taming style (a kind of pokemon like with some nice features) the dream to have a personnal monster from the series *_*.
If some of you have the game, what do you think about it ? I'm playing since the first Mh on ps1 and that new experience seems to worth it (even if i don't like the manga which is based on the game). That semi-open world game is really interesting in my opinion.
Second question, still on the same subject, what's your favorite monster in-game and favorite type of weapons? For my part i'm really fan of the Nargacuga and Tigrex, both are really stunning and stylized (and damn dangerous XD). Also, i'm mostly using all type of weapons to stay versatile but in first usage the dual dagger is my main tool.

Personally I love the Tigrex, and in later instalments the Brachydios was awesome. Punchy exploding dino wins my heart. And I was an avid fan of using the gunlance, became the walking tank of my group!
Oh god the Brachydios..The one i call rocky balboa or captain falcon with his massive explosive punch...Rocketo punch !! He's really cool too (and that dino style is neat!)
Ha the gunlance! Such an amazing weapon if you have a huge armored gear to play the tank...I had the opportunity to play a lot with it in monster hunter freedom 2 ! Such a nice and fun experience XD
I tested a lot of Weapons and is stopt with the Long Sword, because its mobile, relative fast to punch and has high damage. This weapon fits to my play stile. Attack, when I have the chance, maybe dodge some attacks from the Monster and withdraw / folow when its constantly running to the one end of the sector to the other.
My favorite Monster? Puh... I dont know. All Munsters are awsome. But I would say its the Nagacuga and Tigrex too but also the Kushala Daora and Lagiacrus.

Well Monster hunter freedom 1 and 2 was my favorites games so far with freedom 4. all the games Had that little kick of difficulty which was really interesting ,even if in my opinion, freedom one stays the most difficult and tricky because of some limitations. I got only disappointed by X generation which was for me a kind of long demo ? XD (even if you can play as a feline hunter). You should try fredom 3 ultimate and feedom 4 ultimate as well, both are amazing.
The katana is a nice weapon with different way to take the advantage in combat, its fast, mobile and it deal a lot of damages with the different charges and combos. You can, if you're used to use it ofteen, strike and dodge rapidly and perform a kind of infitine combo with the demonisation up. I really liked the usage.
Ha the Kushala Daora was one of my favorite after the narcaguga and tigrex, i really like his parttern and metalic style, and of course the popular Lagiacrus is fantastic too ! :p.
I wanted to buy other MH games, but Capcom released the newest MH on the Wii U and I had only the normal Wii. I wantet to try MH Freedom Ultimate and other PSP MH's, but i didn't found some. I could buy MH Tri on the normal Wii at that time, but I didn't play on consoles anymore and changed to the PC. But many of my Friends have the Wii Swich and want to buy MH World, so I decided to buy the Swich too, when MH World is released and get back to the franchise \(^-^)/.
However if you want to try the new Mh games, you should go with the 3ds Version, or then, wait for monster hunter world which will be released in 2018 in all plateforms (pc as well).
Yup i guess you can wait for world even if the 3ds version of Mh are really great, but i guessMh World will eat the most biggest part of the players XD.
I don't have a favorite weapon or armor set as I only played MH 4 fully to the end so far, but I do love Zinogre (I hope I am spelling that right) and I pretty good at using the Incest Glaive.
The zinogre yes ! He's so cool and deadly, also, the stygen version is badass with his darker style.
I first used the insect glaive myself on Mh4U and i really liked the weapon too. But all the weapons are awesome if you know how to use them at your advantage.
And Zinorge makes a cool anthro True, but I haven't had much experience with the other weapons as I had with the Insect Glaive.
When you look more closely to the gene's system it isn't that difficult after a lil time of adaptation, but it remain a huge part on the game.
The Zinogre is awesome! I got it yesterday as a monstie ingame (waiting for the stygien *_*).
For the weapons the insect glaive was my only weapon on mh4 ultimate with the dual sword. Both are really quick with a good mobility :0
I can't wait to get one for my own
Dual swords were okay for me but like you said, both it and the Insect Glaive are easy to use and have great mobility.
