how is the damage in the neighborhood?

Oh, there is one street not far from us that is blocked by a huge fallen oak tree. Dragged down power lines and utility pole. Only avoided landing on our friend's home across the street because their own big ass oak stopped it.

So there is that!

We drove through part of it last night. Lots of tree debris in people's yards and in the street. We didn't see and structural damage. These houses were built in the 1960s and they seem pretty sturdy. We replaced our roof last year... we've lived here about 14 years, and believe it to have been about 15 years old at the time. We feel it was a great investment.

Thanks, everyone, for your concern. Oh, power was restored at about 9:30 this am. That's about 38 hours without power. Not bad, cobsidering there are people still without power that likely won't have power restored for weeks.
