FEATURED ARTISTS:

because laptop was dying, so you got a new PC and so you have only 1 monitor..
So then you search/look and try to compare few options, but after days you keep having no clue which one to get
If this is familiar for someone, or someone is in the same path as me (high five)
I'd love to hear (read) from your experience with 2k/4k monitors, I'm not interested in gaming monitors unless they are quite decent for design
Thanks for reading <3
FA+

I want a 27" screen, there are some nice 2K and 4K, but then 2K are more expensive than the 4k (in some cases, which is really weird xD)
Was reading that 27" 2K is a nice size/resolution ratio, but then again while searching there are some 27" 4K monitors for same money or even less
and that's where I feel lost xD
will respond to the 3 comments here ^^
about first, is a pity I haven't seen any 1440p irl or next to a 1080p, because would be nice to compare, but I trust your experience so thanks fpr that info :)
yeah expensive should mean better that's for sure, and yes IPS is the idea, as when I first was searching for the actual monitor I have ^^
about second, yes I have seen that Dell, is one of the options I'm considering (for around 419€ here), I saw few videos where people compared IPS and TN and the colour difference is huge yes.
And you are right, good memory ^^ it is IPS (LG 24MP77HM-P 23.8" LED IPS)
I'm not sure about latency (I'm a noob hehe) but I'll try to get some feedback, thanks Surody ^^
It really depends on what you are using them for though. And, some programs do have problems with different monitors having different resolutions. Sai for example didn't like me using a 4k next to a 1080p monitor when I had to use an older tv as second screen. So if you don't have a 4k now I would not suggest you get one. They are more expensive, especially if you want a good one as well.
congrats for that by the way, if you can have it why the heck not having it! :'D
I bet it must be a pleasure to have so many space and nice resolution ^^
Yeah like I said to Surody all I have now is a 24" 1080p screen, which will be relegated to second screen hehe as soon as I get "the new one" x3
They are expensive indeed, but even QHD are expensive compared to some 4K (my ideal budget is around 400/500€ and there are some options of both resolutions, only 27/28" as I don't have space for bigger monitor + would be more money..)
Thanks for your comment dear <3
For 27" 1080p is totally alright, for everything above I would suggest more since the quality of the image starts suffering. Maybe just get a cheaper one and someday get two new ones?
I think 27" would be nice, because I don't want another 24", 25" would be just a lil bigger... but there are many 32" monitors now also, I saw a HP QHD (2560x1440p) for around 380/400€
If I get more lost than I am right now lol with so many options, maybe I'll go for a 27" 1080p, there are some nice ones for less money, thanks for your comment dear ^^
I wouldn't advice to take a 32" with only 1440p though, it wouldn't have the nice crisp/sharp quality in picture quality. i think for what you want 27 or 28 is enough for that resolution =)
you will need a colour adjustment thingie (i don#t know the name in english, sorry) which adjusts your colours to what they really should be. (if you ever want to do printable media especially) I got the spyder5 adjustment tool, don't know if there are other good ones out there (probably)
Thankies, I think I'll stick to 27/28 and 1440p <3
ah yes, some aren't colour calibrated, thanks for the info, I thought of getting one if someday I plan to do prints, worth tool for sure :)

I'm not sure yet, but I'll check it and compare to the current ones I have seen
The rest of the specs are up to you. a higher res will naturally display things on the screen smaller but you can scale them up in windows. Depends on how much you hate pixels. I think the higher rest monitors looks great, but 1080 is fine for general use. I wouldn't want to draw on one anymore though, pixel density is low. Since your face is sitting a bit closer to the screen
you are right, some models I checked had TN panel (when the price was cheaper hehe)
I think I wouldn't mind things being displayed smaller, as you said also that can be solved by scaling up. About pixels, well in the laptop I had they were more visible comparing to the screen I use now, if I look at it closer I can see them, but almost placing my face at 15cm of it. But higher res should look better I think
Thanks for your comment, I appreciate it a lot :)
I've been waiting for the new cintiqs coming out in january. I used to have a 22HD but the pixels were just too big to be up on a screen that close. but the new ones will be 4k, and I think that will make the drawings much clearer up close~
Those must look amazing, I hope to being able and see one (test it would be even better) someday ;w;
if you plan to get a new one with 4K, yay for that and post a photo of it, I loove seeing other artists's work places/tools :D
I'll need to be selling my current cintiq in a few months when I upgrade u-u
Here's a picture of my setup from a couple months ago. It's just a bit messier now and has an ipad on a stand: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B.....2szZjZTYzlTOFE
aww but the upgrade will be worth it *hug*
Is a really nice work place :3
