It's funny to me how people that ask for free art always play the victim when I say I don't do that. Oh no! Im so sorry I don't want to waste the years I've sacrificed spending time with family and friends. Or coming home from one job just to start on art and work all night. Get that shit outta here! I've no patience for it.

Ps. Im not opposed to trades sometimes or the occasional gift art cuz there are those that I love and deserve it ^-^

Like, do these people go up to someone who is working in their garden and ask "Hey would you mind mowing my lawn for me after you're done?", or see a mechanic working on their own car and ask "hey would you mind fixing up my car too? It's only like an hour or so of your time, since you enjoy doing this you can do that right?"
It's a weird mindset of entitlement to another person's time. It's not inherently wrong to ask someone for a favor, but there is a definite lack of understanding of what they're actually asking for, and an odd sense of arrogance in thinking that an artist would enjoy doing free stuff for them as much as they enjoy working on their own art. You can ask, but always expect a no and for the love of cats respect the answer if you don't want to come across as a spoiled, entitled little brat.
