This movie was insane.
Saw the new IT movie. Wow it was very different to the 90s tv movie I saw as a kid. Much darker, scarier, and very creepy. The tv movie was heavily toned down compared to this reboot. This is more in line with the novel and doesn't hide how disturbing and scary things are in the book.
Billy: Ben! Ben! *sees Pennywise* Oh shit!

Pennywise: Is this real enough for you Billy? I'm not real enough for you? It sure was real enough for Georgie. RAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
Pennywise begins to chase the kids until he's stabbed in the eye with a poker from a fireplace. This really ticks him off. His face mutates into some twisted fanged beast thing. "You'll all taste so much better when you're afraid!"

Yeah, this one got to do more due to it not being stuck on TV listings, though it's impossible to top Tim Curry (and the original should be seen JUST for his performance as Pennywise), I think this new guy does a pretty convincing job.
Tim Curry has that face and voice to do creepy without even trying. He had a stroke a few years ago and can't walk anymore. That sucks. He can do dead serious drama, horror, and comedy (Rocky Horror, which I heard of,but will never watch.)
Yeah I saw that he had the stroke and it's painful. He can still sing, oddly enough.
Rocky Horror Picture Show is a very strange movie. You can't watch alone, you need someone there who has seen it a bunch of times, but basically, it's a musical that parodies basically all the universal horror movies (Tim Curry first shows up and you think he's some vampire, there is a body wrapped in bandages like a mummy, there is a resurrection scene like Frankenstein's monster, even an homage to king kong).
If nothing else, listen to the soundtrack.
And watch this one scene, it's one of the most famous numbers of the movie.
