Realistic Adaptation of Beauty and the Beast (My Thoughts)
"Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall." Confucius This movie made me cry a couple times simply due to the nostalgia. Yes, I cry about nostalgia, and old memories coming up. I thought the adaptation was really good. However, the additional songs added for Belle (Watson) and the Beast (Stevens) are things I could've done without. I also think that the choice to have Gaston (Evans) shoot the Beast 3 times was... overkill.
The parts that made me cry were the first dance in the ballroom, as well as the ending scene. Yes, in both scenes the song, "Beauty and the Beast" is playing, but hey... I said I cry over nostalgia. Just ask any of my close friends. >.<
The thing that made my jaw drop, however, was the fact that Ewan McGregor played Lumiere.
Anyone who knows my movie tastes will have heard me go on about the Star Wars franchise... But where he impressed me most was in Angels & Demons, in which he played Carmelengo (Father Patrick McKenna).
When I saw his face smiling in the credits for Beauty and the Beast... I swear to Christ I peed a little.
