Many movie sites say Avatar 2 begins filming today. I hope so as fans of the first film have waited since 2009 for a sequel. In June 2017, Jon Landau stated at the CineEurope conference that principal photography will begin on September 25, 2017.

The sequel starts the same number of years after the first movie as the filming date does from the 2009 film. So maybe Neytiri and Jake have a family by now. Again, who knows.
