As some of you may know, I was diagnosed a few years ago with a rare skin disease. ((Necrobiosis Lipoidica)) My previous specialist was of no help, telling me that there was no cure for my condition, gave me a tiny bit of cream, and said 'Good Luck!'.

Since then, the area in question (my lower leg/shin area) has had the spot grow even larger and more irritated until it finally ruptured the skin surrounding it and started to cave in.

I've finally found a doctor who takes me seriously and is helping me work towards a (hopefully) usable cure, but I have a long road ahead of me.

I just got back from the hospital yesterday, and my leg is all wrapped up and held together using two compression bandages. I'm finally getting some form of treatment, which is awesome!
However I still need to pay out of pocket for my antibiotics, the various medical ointments for it, and the supplies needed to wrap my leg and keep it protected, (Not so awesome. D: )

I am already out $150 dollars and this has so far only been the first day. :C
