Because technical no nipples are visible so I figured it was okay. Apparently they thought else wise. Like I said I'll just submit everything, and I do mean, everything as mature from now on.

You don't have to resubmit anything. You can change the ratings in the Edit Submission function.

Well this isn't the government. This is the editorial policy of FA.

Remember that it's the FA admins who will get nailed if it becomes a legal issue and they haven't been consistently taking action.

I'd also say that that image should be tagged mature, both for nudity and the implied sex.

I'm wondering if it might be some of the Cutie Mark Crusader work you've submitted. Some people get uncomfortable at seeing those characters in provocative outfits, even if they are aged up.

They’ll write you up for marking something as mature that could be general rated too. From what I’ve gathered one of the mods here has a bone to pick with some artists and is using (imagined) ratings violations as a tool for harassment. Your best bet is probably to escalate to Dragoneer.

DA is my main submission location. After the debacle a few years ago with FA going down and losing a month plus of work I'd posted, then their bungled restart FA has resulted in it becoming a very a second tier location for me. Plus their unwillingness to update their interface makes it more and more dated every day.

But... isn't DA even MORE dated though?

Oh no! There interface is much nicer and quicker to work with and allows me to easily pre-schedule posting and create easy to incorporate clean, visually appealing links to past postings within a new post. None of this description. On DA I select the post and then choose whether I want a text link or thumbnail image. And creating sub galleries is a breeze on DA. FA is DA 10+ years ago.

Oh and DA has never lost months of my data. That's why I stopped posting any direct sequence dreamscape material to FA. I didn't feel like rebuilding all those links into something tidy just to have it wiped out again. I've been through 3 crashes of a week+ with FA. Not going to go through the effort again.

Yeah, I have also heard of mods giving people a hard time over age ratings. I would say that "no nipples showing" is not enough for General. It depends on the "suggestiveness" factor.

Guess I'll be getting one soon for fur (and snow!) covered nipples. (If I don't, then it might be an admin trying to pick bones with you - in which case we might have to have the other admins sort it out.)

As someone who draws a range from clean to absolutely not clean. I agree with your new assessment. Its better just to mark most everything as mature. The admins have been conservative in their assessments as of late.

I guess if it is can of beans or an automobile I'll post general. I just find it ironic.
