I wonder why Tempest's horn wasn't restored? And I also wonder if any of the characters from the movie will be shown in the series, or if this is the only time we'll see them, and if the movie will really affect the rest of the series, if at all?

Well, if I remember correctly, the Dazzlings and Sunset Shimmer of Equestria Girls became canon in the main MLP universe, so I don't see why not.

Per Equestria Daily and some officials, the movie takes place after this current season, which suggests that there may be some carryover to next season. As for Tempest's horn, Twilight even notes that regardless of her horn-disability, she's perfectly capable of really cool things! So, like every other villain that Twily and company crosses, she's likely to become a feature in the next season.

We can hope!
