A lot has been going on for me recently, I've been kind of poofy here because of it and I apologize! Just another small update.
Last week was a whirlwind, and I overextended. What I planned to be an uneventful work week was anything but and I ended up putting a lot of time into caring for and worrying about others, setting aside my own needs and wellbeing in the process. Normally this wouldn't have been an issue but I was already extremely low on energy, so the timing wasn't good which I didn't realize until it was too late to fix. Now at the beginning of the new week, I have very little energy to spare. This has been a lesson for me, it's important to remember it's hard to help others when you aren't feeling well/at your best. I'm very exhausted and despite having a lot I really need to get done today, I need to take some time for myself I don't hit a wall.
This might be a little personal rather than professional, but you guys are great and I feel like I need to just be real with you every once and a while.
On a related, but somewhat side note, what are some of your favorite things to do to take care of yourself? What do you do to relax, unwind, and reset? I'd love to hear. Any favorite hobbies, foods or snacks, shows, something else?
FA+

I've been there, hot showers are equally nice though <3
Hope you feel better. x
I think part of my problem is my relaxation go-to's (sleeping, watching shows, eating tasty snacks, drawing for myself) are tied to 'not doing work' and I get a lot of guilt for taking time for myself when I have work to do so instead of relaxing, I just decide to go back to work, thinking that'll give me some stress free relaxation later. But then it never does.
TEA sounds fabulous right now. I might have to go make myself some, thank you for the suggestion
And if you enjoy meditating, it is possibly what helps the most for me. I truly hope you'll recharge your energies soon, I know well the effects of exhaustion, and trying to help everybody and forgetting about ourselves. You are taking the wisest decision.
Keep shining =)
Another thing I enjoy is creating or organizing niche reference folders or faux-shopping lists for my characters. Exercising the imagination in various ways is the most important part of staying creative and coming back to the canvas with fresh eyes.
I hope you're able to find your point of zen and wellness soon my friend!
We're always here to support and encourage you in any way we can~ 💖
But please take care of yourself! I'm looking forward to meeting you again at MFF, it'd be a shame if I couldn't meet you at your best!
