Hah. Yeah i know. I've been banned for replying to my own comment to adress someone who blocked me. Apparently thats all it takes to contact someone who blocked me. Even though they had no notification of my response to myself. So it wasnt contacting them more so talking to myself.

I swear the same happened to me, but when I asked the artist if they were open for comms. Since they had two statuses, one saying they were open, and a journal saying they weren't. Q-Q

I was blocked recently by a pretty nice artist, even though I had never even remotely spoken to them before.
I took a look at their twitter afterwards and then it became clear that their political views probably got them triggered at me for probably innocuous things.

Lol. I have only ever blocked people who harass me. And usually that takes a fair few arguments

i had a certain someone who was supposed to draw me a badge for a convention upcoming in 8 months forward. Mentioned person never did anything but said its in progress, never sended any step-so-far pictures, the con was over, i was pissed cause messages had been ignored, wanted my money back because of no pregress, no answer. Paypal did the job for me since i got no answer, then suddenly the artist messages me with a finished badge and asked me if all was ok with the end result, i wanted to inform him that the badge wasnt paid since he had send me the money back and i just kindly wanted to inform him about that fact but then it said " this user blocked you" xd..

See this is the kind of shit i constantly talk about when it comes to artists and their shit towards comissioners. No one ever talks about it too. We're supposed to care about their issues and problems. Be patient and understanding but they rarely afford us the same respect.

And ya know what sucks? They wont change. Because we keep giving them money and fame. They can be as shitty as they want because theres a dozen more who'll pay them

Sounds like something that happened to me pretty recently. Artist I was actually fairly close too just randomly blocked me on all mediums we spoke on, blocked me on FA and even their Picarto, which I was an admin in. I still have absolutely no clue why they decided to do what they did - quiet honestly don't care anymore, but I know how you feel. Not knowing why someone chose to do something like that generally is super annoying.

The block list says right next to it "block users who are being malicious or harassing toward you", but yet I find myself blocked by people I have never interacted with. Usually its them sending me a nasty note out of the blue or leaving a shout or responding to a comment, though I have had a few block me just for group membership. It has mostly to do with politics form what I've seen so far.

Yeah, it seems to be the issue in this community with its reluctance to actually communicate different ideas. Tired of this us vs them mentality.

I’ve never gotten banned, but I post comments on like five or six artists stuff and only on two over on IB. But it’s entirely possible I am and just don’t know it because of the lack of interaction. I have been given the silent treatment in real life though.

I think q lot of us has been given that treatment in real life at least once.

Oh that also happend to me kinda... Artist was super nice and told me I could commission anytime. Few days later the artist posted something rather controversial and I thought I would have to give my point on this as I was thinking it was not the right thing to judge people like the arist did.

I got a one letter response and was instantly blocked.
I said nothing offensive yet and clearly said this is not an attack but an advise. I got from being one of the favourite watchers to an "enemy" in one comment because I had a different opinion._.

I later found out that person is a supported of Antifa (no thx) and also called the staff and other people really bad stuff... It seems like this person blocked a few dozen if not more people already as another account must have been spammed with "Why was I blocked?" xD

I think if you are not being seriously harrassed, then blocking is mostly (not always) one of the weakest things you can do and shows you are not able to deal with different opinions and face confrontation.

The same thing happened with  Luckypan and me. Apparently being against antifa is block worthy even tho they said i could ask for a commission pretty much any time.

It's always sad to see a good artist with such a bad personality.

Chiming in pretty late here, but you ain't the only one annoyed by that for sure, especially seeing all these replies above ^ ;P

But yeah, had a couple of artists who did some pretty awesome art suddenly block me out of the blue. It took me a second to realize why, as I had no prior contact with them besides faving their stuff. Basically it was politically driven as I noticed something on their profile reading along the lines of "Don't bother watching me if you use transfobic slurs like c-boy...". Granted, I don't genuinely like using the term c-boy myself, but it is way more descriptive then intersexed male, which is such a broad term. So, without a chance of explaining myself this artist had decided I was not worthy of their time.

It is sad, true and true, but then again, I'm happier knowing I won't have to deal with said close minded individual again.
