I've been stewing over this for the last day or so, trying to figure out what to write - so here goes.
The warehouse job didn't exactly work out. I thought that I'd be able to handle it, and for a little while I was able to. The job description, however, never mentioned that heavy lifting would be involved in any capacity - and so it felt rather humiliating when I quickly became unable to fulfill the basic requirements of the role due to the weight of the objects I was expected to lift, repeatedly dropping several heavy items.
In the end I realised that I'd only end up hurting either myself or those around me due to my almost total inability to do the job - and so I thanked the manager for the opportunity at the end of the first shift, before resigning from the position. Going to give back the high-vis jacket and steel-toed boots to the work agency tomorrow.
I'm sorry for disappointing everyone who put their faith in me.

Do something you like, and don't kill yourself in the process.
Bird out!
It takes a certain kind of person to work in a warehouse. And that's ok if you aren't one of those people. Here's hoping the next job fits you perfectly!
