Finland just celebrated it's 100-year anniversary as a sovereign nation, and I am proud to call myself a genuine Finn.
There would be a million ways to describe this nation, a million ways to say how great it is, a million ways to explain why Finland is amazing, but words do it no justice.
Finland is my homeland, the land of the midnight sun, the land of never-setting sun, the land of forests and thousands of lakes.
Finland is a land of beauty if you can see it, a land of natural beauty with modern influence in it.
Finland is the land my forefathers had to die to keep independent.
Finland is the land of one of the most bizarre and difficult language ever on the face of this planet (just ask my wife).
Finland is the land of amazing people and SISU ( Sisu is a combination of inner strength, courage, stubbornness and endurance ). To give you a solid example, Finns declare it was through the SISU of every single Finn that kept us sovereign through Winter War and Continuation War with Soviet Union.
Finland has it's share of bloody history I'd rather think wasn't true.
Finland has it's problems in this modern world like any other country. though I would love to lie and tell it is perfect. But it isn't.
But, it is my homeland, and I love it.
