Something I rarely talk about

I rarely talk about my family life on Social Media, But i think i should let you all know about something that most of us have been though at some point in our timelines. In June of 2017, during a routine check-up, doctors have discovered that my mother had cancer. Luckily they caught it at the early stages so they managed to remove it during the fall months and she has been doing great in recovery since then. Now it is December and she will be now going into chemo to remove the trace amounts (and with that, losing hair) and thus wont be able to go to work for a while so I got a job with help from the JVS (Jewish Vocational Services) of Chicago so i'm gonna be busy for a while. For those who may have gone through this...what was it like?

I have gone through this as well. My mom was diagnosed 5 years ago and I went with her to every chemo treatment. It was rough I will be honest seeing her go through the mental exhaustion and frustration that goes along with no just the news but the therapy needed to continue on. Hers was in the latter stages but not to the point of it being fatal. She's still kicking and has fought through this endeavor. Needless to say I'm happy she's still here even though there are a few lasting effects sadly such as nerve damage. I'm glad there are medicines to help ease the pain though.

My Mom, god rest her soul, she had cancer in the uterus, and had it removed. She stayed at the hospital for a week I think before the doctors let her go home to recover the rest of the way. She was making a full recovery before she died from the blood clot she got 4 weeks later. At the time before her death, I thought she was going to be fine. She seem alright with everything at the time. I think she was unconscious when they did the surgery at the time. I don't remember. I think she was in pain while recovering.

Your mother has cancer. What you're doing is therefore understandable.
