The FCC vote to repeal Net Neutrality
Unfortunately, as many have read already, Ajit Pai and the FCC decided to ignore the fact that at least 98 % of the people are not wanting to have NN repealed along with Republicans and Democrats speaking out against their actions.
HOWEVER, they still have to take it to court in order to get it passed and it might just get shot down by the judges, so the chance is still there, people.
Oh and before I forget, call your reps and tell them to stand up for Net Neutrality while also saying that you're in support of the H.R. 4585 legislation that Sean Patrick Maloney has created to block the FCC's rollback of Net Neutrality:

We've had AT&T as our ISP since 2002, and they're huge throttle junkies compared to Cox Communications in the OKC area. After 2015, they throttled less often and had improved their network quality, so much that people are switching over to them from Cox, not to mention cheaper for the still shittier performance.
An who will enforce it?
* We shouldn't have any restaurants with different food. That would be an indication people can pay for better food and service: all restaurants should be force to demand the same price for exactly the same style of service and food.
* We shouldn't have different car dealerships. This would be an indication people could pay for better cars. All cars should be exactly the same and every dealership should be forced to charge the same price for the same cars.
Heck, let's make EVERY product entirely equal. Ye can't charge any more or less fer any product an all qualities of said products must be equal. An if ye don' do this according to government regulations ye will be thrown in jail.
Freedom...?
Who is going to ensure this fairness is enforced, and what kind of power will those people have?
I do like the supposition that NO company will not implement evil schemes, even if people have the choice of providers which Net Neutrality wouldn't allow them.
Imagine you have hundreds of choices, many with different prices for different things. You choose as you please. Bad services get left in the dust by other services providing better materials at cheaper prices.
Now imagine no other choice but one speed, one quality all controlled by a massive government agency which polices content and quality for the sake of keeping everything 'equal'.
Just saying.
Ideally this SHOULDN'T happen, but if net neutrality dies, there is nothing preventing it from happening. It's also not a secret that a lot of smaller internet companies as they are now do not provide good, stable service, and everyone suddenly switching to them will -not- make them any better. I like the idea of a free market, too, but there really is a point where you're just throwing ordinary people to a wolves' den. You can like the supposition that no company will be that bad; I ask you, what if they do?
Except that there is.
Also
'You can like the supposition that government will be that bad; I ask you, what if they do?'
The Capn' can just switch services ifn' he doesn't like a company.
Can ye 'switch' governments?
What if every company becomes an over-expensive mess with absurdly throttled internet; which is a thing that could happen now.
Their jobs are dependent on if people are willing to vote for them. If they have any sense of self preservation, they will vote against the repeal of Net Neutrality.
Though still. Congress, and court is left to go through. If we all keep fighting. We might still be able to stop them.
