I normally don't go and do all those flippin' questionaire thingies that breeze through here and LJ, but then one related to videogames had to appear. Now bein' the self-appointed main man thereof, I absolutely have to participate. You all suck. =)
1) What video game/video games are you playing right now (At least three is good).
Final Fantasy III, Wii Sports, Final Fantasy (no, that's not a repeat or typo), New Sam 'n Max episodes, Liberty City Stories, Final Fantasy XI, Second Life

CastleVania, Gran Turismo 2, Okami, Super Mario Bros. 3, Tetris

Oy, let's see. Vic 20, Commodore 64 x 2, Atari 2600, Atari 520ST, Intellivision, Sega Master System, Genesis, Saturn, Dreamcast, NES, Famicom knockoff, SNES, N64, GameCube, 3DO, PSX, PS2 x2, Lynx, GameGear x 2, Gameboy Pocket, Gameboy Color, Virtual Boy, GBA, GBA SP (NES 20th Ann. Edition), DS, PSP, an old homebuilt 68k Mac, and of course, my PC's.

Action/Adventure, Puzzle
5) Which do you prefer; Fantasy or Sci-fi?
I actually prefer a good blend. Final Fantasy is a grand example of this, especially VII and XII. Ultima III is another good example. There's computers, guns, lasers, and yet there's people beatin' the crap out of each other with magic and swords, hells yeah!
6) What's your favourite type of puzzles in video games?
Hmmm, I'd say the kind that have more than one solution. Especially if differing paths lead to differing outcomes.
7) What's your favorite weapon from a video game (you may list more than one if you wish, also list the game it is from)?
The yo-yo from Star Tropics!
8) Who is your favourite hero/heroine from a video game (you may list more than one if you wish, also list the game they are from)?
Richter Belmont, that dude kicks ass, has long hair, and still dresses snazzy. Cid from Final Fantasy VII also has to be on this list. Another snazzy dresser, always confident, and he's got the balls to light dynamite with a cigarette.
9) What kind of weapon do you prefer for your hero/heroine?
It depends on the hero/heroine. Anyone named Belmont absolutely requires a whip or flail. My preference is quarter staff, an under-represented weapon in video games.
10) Do you prefer emotional characters or stoic ones?
If I had to pick from the two, I'd say stoic. But even that gets annoying due to overuse. Back in the day, characters were stoic due to the hardware limitations. Now that characters can show emotion, they have way too much. I love Kingdom Hearts, but damn, I so wanna bitch-slap Sora sometimes.
11) Do you prefer story cliches or creative themes?
I want creative use of cliches, I love it when a videogame doesn't always take itself seriously.
12) Do you prefer expansive worlds, or detailed ones?
Why not both? Grand Theft Auto accomplishes this fairly well. On the other hand, Okami wasn't detailed, but the style was so perfect and the world was so big, it didn't need to be.
13) What's your biggest frustration in a video game?
Bad control schemes.
14) What is your favourite vehicle and creature in a video game?
Hehe, the chocobo! It's both a creature and a vehicle!
15) What missions or quests do you love in video games?
Entertaining missions. That's what makes Wario Ware a great game. Some of the hunts in FFXII were great too, as well as some of the more creative rampages in GTA.
16) What missions/quests do you hate in video games?
Anything scripted. Those "battles" in the Final Fantasy series that you're supposed to lose? Yeah, that's incredibly annoying. Especially when you're actually powerful enough to take out the cheating critter. It took me days to figure that out with some monster in FFVI.
17) What's your favourite power in a video game?
Okami Amaterasu's paintbrush. The ability to alter the environment by painting directly onto the world, very creative and it gave a good sense of being a god.

Bowser: despite being a toony Gamera wannabe, he just seems more "real" than most bad guys. In some ways he's practical, he's powerful but not perfect, and he's kinda cute.

Gilgamesh! An amusing guy from FFV who makes a reappearance (sorry if this is a spoiler for people) in FFXII. He has the best entrance (in FFXII) out of anyone that I can think of too.

Jenova from FFVII, just freakin' die already, you bitch!

Hmmm, that dude from Evergrace, I mean seriously I can't even remember his name. Or maybe the moron in Doom3 that doesn't know how to hold a flashlight and a gun at the same time.

Snarks from Half-Life. Just too silly.

I have a fondness for the artsy, Okami was just way too nice looking and the music fit perfectly.

FFXII (I still think it borrowed from Star Wars, but it made it look cool), and Okami.

Anything from EA Sports or any other licensed sports franchise. You know, since there's none whatsoever.
27) In your opinion, what game had the best ending ever?
Okami and Breath of Fire 2. Both had me emotionally involved. Okami I almost couldn't beat because a cut scene in the middle of the final boss fight had me near tears.
28) In your opinion, what game had the worst ending ever?
The first Final Fantasy as it was originally translated on the NES. Even the new versions aren't much better. I just sat there, re-read the ending and blinked. "Why the hell did I even play the damn game then!?"

Kuribos Shoe (Super Mario 3), double ended dildo (GTA: San Andreas), the Claw doll (Shogo: MAD), porkchops hidden inside of walls (CastleVania)

Armour that is totally useless because you're at the end of the game.

The summons in FFXII. I only ever used one ONCE to open a stupid door in the entire game.
