On Lampshading
Not really sure if I like Sonic Unleashed or not yet. It has its annoyances, chiefly among which how Sonic doesn't seem able in either form to turn on the spot; changing direction from north to south will involve a small movement north and either east or west, which may cause you to fall off a ledge if you're trying to, say, collect rings scattered around the circumference of a platform. The game just feels a little... clunky, and as usual since I played Sonic Adventure on a 50Hz PAL TV, Sonic moves too fucking fast.
Still, it's Sonic, and it's fun enough. Plus there's occasionally some amusing lampshading going on to deal with the weirdness of Sonic's world. The incident that prompted me to post this journal was one where, after completing a mission for a hot dog seller where I had to collect 100 rings, said sausage merchant marvelled at how Sonic was able to hold so many. 'Where do you put them?'
Where indeed? :P

one thing though, have you heard of Ben 'Yahtzee'?
he's a video game critic on escapist and he did a review of Sonic unleashed
you should check it out, he's really funny (swears a lot... don't know if that would bother you?) let me try for a link in a second comment
.... i don't know how to link things.... sorry
Yes, I've heard of Yahtzee. Been following his reviews for a while now, and love them. He's occasionally wrong, but I put that down to differing tastes and a need to be funny. ^^
Case in point, he apparently thinks that Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 were crap, where they're clearly better than the Megadrive originals to anyone but a hopeless nostalgist. That's not to say they didn't have their... issues, however...
thats really cool that you have the exp and the talent to be able to point out spacific points and games ^^
you are so cool ^^
They should make another Sonic Adventure. I loved Chao raising, even if it did get boring after a while. I miss those cute little buggers =(
And I also somewhat recall (haven't played it in a while) a ton of lampshading with Tails. Maybe you should draw your perverted interpretations of these things ;3
As for grabbing ledges, well, you'll get that in any game.
I would DEARLY love to see another Sonic Adventure. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem likely, considering how Sonic 2008 bombed and Sega being sold again. They just can't seem to grasp that Sonic games since SA2 have been too fast and too complex. The original games had like one button mapping, for goodness sake. The Adventure games had 2, and that mainly seemed to be because you couldn't do the spin dash by pressing down in a 3D environment.
This one has 3 buttons, with different meanings, triggers, combos, combined with a slightly clunky control scheme and while rushing along at mach 5. *shakes head* < u.u >
*Nods* For a game that's supposed to be more geared towards children, they've kinda taken a step in the wrong direction with the complexity. We borrowed the game from our neighbor's 7 year-old son, who was willing to give it up because he just couldn't get the hang of it XD Even my 17 year old brother was cursing at the game for its clunky movement. If they did bring back the Adventure games, I hope they take Tails out of the robot. And I also hope they bring back the cartoon series X3
The cartoon series' I could do without tho. ^^;
Nevermind that Sylia is loosely based on Tails. Never mind that at all.
And that's funny, you know. Guess who else was based on Tails once upon a time? :P
