I'm looking for input/advice for use of Patreon - not for me personally, though. The student orchestra I'm in at school (twelve years old now) is looking at starting a Patreon page as an auxiliary source of funding. We only put on one concert per semester, and all we perform is (essentially?) under creative commons - we can't sell recordings of our music (and we don't charge admission to our concerts) as we don't have the rights to do so with the songs that we perform. I'm not incredibly familiar with the inner workings of Patreon - all I know is that you offer various levels of funding and are expected to give rewards for each level of funding.

My main questions are these:

Is there an expected/required schedule for the rewards that are given? i.e. is once a semester enough? Or would we need to do more/less? Can we do one-off rewards, e.g. the minimum patronage level means you get your name added to a "Patrons" list on our website? Is it taboo or not to offer rewards that require knowing a Patron's address, i.e. a physical reward that needs mailing?
