2017 In review

Well now! 2017 was a great year for me for several reasons!
1.) GOT ENGAGED!
2.) Started planning for the wedding!
3.) Sold more of my fursuiting work then ANY year previous!
4.) Became a keyholder at my job and got a small raise
5.) Was able to single handedly support myself and Butters while he spent 3 months job hunting, without touching my savings. I can’t tell you how MASSIVE an achievement that was for me, and how stressful it was to do, but I’m proud that I was able to do it. Now maybe someday Butters can return the favor while I break into the graphic design field and work on my portfolio and website!
6.) Choosing to cut down on suitwork and focus more on getting a more consistent art job. Being able to finally do this means a lot to me as well, since suiting has paid my bills for so long I felt stuck, but now I don’t anymore and can now fully give it the hobby status it was always meant to have in the new year once my final orders are done.
7.) Realizing that suiting and the fandom is slowly taking a backseat in my life as I explore and learn new skills, and plan for our future together. I’ve made so many friends in the fandom, but luckily they’re now mostly local to me, so cons aren’t as necessary anymore. My social 20’s are ending soon, and I’m more then fine with it.
8.) Embracing my inner designer and retraining my brain to think graphically, and pursuing it by reading books and exercising those old rusty skills in any way I can. I only hope to have even more time to draw and research in 2018!
9.) Taking a long necesary break (possibly permanent) from social media. The toxicity and negativity was reaching a devastating high, and cutting it out of my life has left me feeling SO much better, more relaxed, and honestly healthier, and mentally more capable of creating items I’m proud of.
I know 2018 will be even better as I gain a husbun and start on our path as adults together in this big ole’ world. Just can’t believe all my wildest dreams are coming true...❤️❤️❤️
