The few critics are always louder than the silent majority. There are plenty who just enjoy the comic without leaving comments. The fact of the matter remains that you can't please everyone and trying to do so will only lead to frustration.

He has had a lot of negative comments on some of the differant artists. It is no easy job keeping the comic going when artists keep finding other things to do.

Haters suck. I have dealt with my fair share haters over the years and it never gets easier, and I'm pretty sure I've raged quit a time or two myself.

It's okay. You may feel like shit now, but it will get better. Take some time, a few deep breaths and regroup. Your supporters will be here for you. I once told a troll, and still live by this today, "This is my train ride, all are welcome aboard, and you can get off anytime you want." The point being is you have to be doing this for you, that is the only way it will succeed.

And a final note: 'Those that care don't matter, and those that matter, don't care.'

I like the cartoony art style. It took some getting used to but it was cute and fun.

I'm sorry that you feel pushed to take such drastic measures. I've really enjoyed the comic (enough to purchase a cameo piece this time around) and will miss it immensely.

you cant please everyone. but if you want to take a suggestion... just find another artist that will fit your needs for your comic. nothing wrong with the prior artist's style. its YOUR comic ultimately and you get to decide what YOU want to do with it regardless of what others may think about it.

I'm happy working with who I am working with.. Just getting sick of the people who have pointless issues with it.

Aww. I should have been more vocal in my enjoyment of the comic.

I don't know, I rather like the cartoony style of this new artist.

But that aside, something you need to understand about furry fandom and art - when commissioning a picture or comic, there's only one member of the audience who matters and that is you.

Other than gift commissions, I've never given a shit if every last furry in the fandom looks at the picture and says they hate it - if I like it then that's really all that matters.

People used to whine about the fact that I'd have commissions of Cigarskunk with a given female character - why does that cigar smoking bastard have to be polluting up the picture? My response was simple - if you don't like it then pay the artist to do the pict with your character instead and stop looking at my picts.

But there's the trick - furries are a bunch of cheap bastards who'd rather look at free art than spend their own money to commission their own art.

Sadly, they don't seem to grasp the concept of "you get what you pay for" and feel that they have the right to complain about the free art and demand that it be tailored to their own personal tastes and preferences.

I first found furry fandom back in 1991 so I've quite literally been in the game longer than many of today's furries have been alive.

During those nearly three decades of collecting furry art I've seen countless artists either stop drawing for the public or stop drawing period and the overwhelming majority of them stopped drawing/sharing due to assholes like you're dealing with.

Now I'm not telling you not to bail on your comic - it's work and it's expensive - but I am saying that if you do make sure that you're bailing of your own accord and not simply allowing yourself to quit something you love due to assholes.

To be honest, I could barely read the text of the comic, because the comic website makes the images much smaller. I wasn't aware of your SoFurry page, I can read the text there.
I wasn't going to complain about the art, because I know you like having different artists draw it.

Way I see it, no one's forcing anyone to read the comic, is it more cartoony that the previous style? Sure. But there's a reason Jim hired the artist, he clearly thought they were the right person for the job and we need to respect his desicions. If you want to give criticism, be constructive about it, but everyone with half a fly's brain should know there is a fine line between constructive criticism and outright trolling. If you don't like the comic, then don't read it.

Rant aside, I know things have been tough for you, Jim. People can be real assholes on the internet and there is no excuse for such behavior, but I want you to remember that there are still plenty of us who love your work. We will always support you no matter what. I know I haven't been able to get in touch with you, Mackey, Amber, and everyone else for a while, and I'm sorry for that, I wish I could've been there for you to give you more support. Perhaps you should take a break for a little while until things settle down and you're able to collect yourself and think things over. If and when you wish to come back we'll be waiting for you with open arms. Remember that we love you and we care about you. For now, just take all the time you need and we hope you can get past all this.
