"The rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated"
Ok, So I'm going to make this one really quick. I'm sure some of you want to know just what the fuck is going on with the studio and it's many projects. So, here it is a nut shell. I may expand on these thoughts later:
#1. I AM NOT DEAD! I've heard many rumors saying I died in a car wreck. This is not true
... or maybe ZOMBIE CROW is just fuckin witcha! ^.^
#2. I am not avoiding commissions nor people who are waiting on commissions. I still am
working on all the commissions in my list. Dracos, Marvikat, Blask and Hyenafur are
currently the closest to being done.
#3. I am holding down 2 active jobs in order to cover living expenses. This has cut into
development time. I apologize for the delay but rent + food kinda make steady work
my top priority.
#4. I know the game is in need of some serious fine tuning. This is being addressed and a
Massive update is planned for August. This update wil bring the game from 20%
complete to around 55% Complete.
#5. I will be releasing new music to the website in August around the games next updated.
#6. I am preparing to render a massive chunk of updated material from the DVD through
August. While it is still months away from being complete I do feel that this product
will make up for the delay in time with superior quality to what was initially produced
in 2007.
#7. I would like to thank everyone who ordered the DVD in advance for being so patient
and understanding.
#8. The HTH game engine will be going under some massive internal updates over the
next few weeks. If you notice anything strange with the game's performance it's
probably just the code monkeys fucking around with the plumping.
#9. I have found a place to live. Moving was quite a setback. I am going to have to move
again in about 5 months. I may be inactive again for a while.

You're full of crap, Crow. You took people's money. That means you have a professional and moral obligation to deliver in a reasonable time frame. Running and hiding for 6 months shows an extreme lack of integrity. Making excuses is a bitch move. How long has the release been "delayed" now, 2 years? I think if these furry pussies weren't so much on your dick they could bring a class-action lawsuit against you by now. That's how negligent you are. You think you're Axl Rose or something? Actually, he's got more integrity than you. He didn't take pre-orders for Chinese Democracy before taking 14 years to finish it.
To all Crow's fans: I'm sure a bunch of you babies are gonna cry now because I'm so mean, and you can just bring it. I say you're all suckers for having faith in this guy. If he ever finishes this project it'll be a miracle.
But I haven't heard any complaints from any of his commissioners yet. Or seen them.
But I said I never "saw any complaints." lol I literally haven't. Then again...I haven't been looking. XD
As someone who pre-ordered a dvd and moved (three times) since then, how would I go about updating my shipping address for when the DVD is finally shipped?
...and even if the car wreck thing was a rumor, be careful out there... lots of horrible drivers, and people... cant believe how many deaths i've seen happen seemingly all at once lately...
anyway, good to hear from you... cant wait to see HTH updated when ya have the time for it.

As for the pay stuff, I agree it should take priority, yet I don't have much right to give opinions since I don't prepay. Let me know when it's finished, then I might order the DVD. I never like to preorder products that are still works in progress; I can name several "professional" products that were planned and never came out (RPG modules, video games, music albums, the list goes on). I don't blame the companies or individuals with dreams that never made it to fruition. I just don't put cash on the line until there's an actual product to purchase.

I'm thinking there won't be an update until the end of this month or even in the middle of september at the earliest . I'd like to be proven wrong though.

Hope things are going more smoothly than they have been Crowchild. Can't wait for the update.
If he said next year DVD, and he actually kept his word, that's cool
He's never kept a single commitment in the time I've followed him. Talented yes, also egotistical, irresponsible, and childish.
He owes nothing to anyone who didn't pay him anything, and if he repays those he has taken from I see no liability whatsoever.
However... to me, a man's word matters, guess I'm just old fashioned like that
I can understand you losing respect for him if he rarely finishes his work when he says he will, but unless you paid him for a commission and he just said "Yeah, well, I'll get it done when I get it done, whatever" then I don't really see any reason people should be pissed off at him. And yeah, he has a donation line going, but it's not like you NEED to donate in order for him to work on it, it just helps him out and shows that you're supporting his work. I dunno, maybe if I had donated I would be a little frustrated too, because it would be like my gratuity went to waste.
So I'm not trying to justify him being late with his work, I just don't want people to flame on him and have an even LONGER wait period (or cancellation) of the project as a result. That's pretty much it.
Just restoring HTH2 to the version before this one that had Tanya for a day. The current version is kind of glitchy, and the other one was much better, despite it's need for more content.
If its possible, please do it.
Or, even better, update it to a newer version. Microupdates are much better than these giant ones, as you can get a gauge for what's good or bad from the fans. I seriously doubt that there would be this many complaints if you did it this way.

I think part of it is that he keeps shooting for Huge amazing things to utterly wow folks with, as opposed to putting out somthing in a timely manner and keeping an open channel of communication with his fans.
Like, put up some sketches or doodles. Fix the animation cycles with HTH 2 so that they aren't so obviously jerky. Update your journal on a regular basis so that people know that you haven't fucked off. These are simple things that Crow can do to keep people from bitching at him about how long he takes to get his shit together.

Crow took hundreads of pre-orders on The Rio dvd and has had the same ten names up on his commision list. All of which are a couple of years overdue.
As to the people who bitch about the lack of updates for HTH2 I'm of two minds on it. On the one hand, people people should be complaining if they're not offering up tips and donations (it's a freebie after all). on the other hand, when crow consistently misses his updates and actually manages to make the current version worse in some ways (the update in december screwed up the cynch rate on several animations) the target audience is liable to get bitchy.
Frankly, crow should be updating his journal more often and updating his gallery a little bit more regularly. I'm not neccesarily looking for a brilliant new piece everyday, but if we got some new B&W sketches every few weeks I think he'd see a lot less bitching coming his way.
I'll let you draw you're own conclusions about that.
I've never commissioned anything and I highly doubt I will (too damn picky on the details for my own good, I'm afraid), but if money has been exchanged, there is a serious issue that takes precedence before anything else that might be a hobby (see "free"). That's my opinion at least.
Seriously though, The part that irritates me is how Crow misses his stated updates by not days but weeks without any attempt to maintain an open dialogue with his fans.
At this juncture I'm all of about done with defending crows incessant delay's and silence.

He's not the only one working on this, and he already has a place to live.
just found something that might interest people, while looking on some webistes i came across a picture that has the HTH logo on it. on the bottom it has "crowchild 2008 commission for Hyenafur" and i checked this post again and Hyenafur is in the commissions in progress list and one of the closer ones to completion.
