It turns out the dude on the other end hadn't worded things very clearly. It turns out they have, in fact, not stopped making the case I need. It's simply out of stock... presumably because everyone brought nice, big 17" gaming laptops in the January sales.

If I wait till February, I should be able to get a laptop in-budget!
