TSUNAMI watch for West Coast

Alaska had an 8.2 quake offshore and the entire US west coast is under a Tsunami watch. Be alert, y'all.

just got up... I get up at 5 every morning pretty much... we get hit with a tsunami and that could really be rough...

It was cancelled. The earthquake was a 7.9 and had been adjusted down after first report.

I heard about it on the radio this morning while driving in to work. I hope that a Tsunami doesn't happen.

Situation normal. Watch was cancelled some hours ago. Anyhow luckily I'm too far inland to worry much.

I don't want everyone to think I am an alarmist by having posted this. When it happened, the information coming in was super sketchy, and tidal waves don't play. I figured it was best to "get the word out", even if the word proved to not be as dangerous as everyone first thought. I would rather have a bunch of live friends who think I'm a nut rather than a bunch of dead friends that I didn't warn when I could have.
