The numbness is very normal. It's your body protecting itself from the pain you feel. I am so sorry you are going through this, it's an awful feeling. I say take all the time you need because grief can't be rushed. You have to go through it.

You can just try if you feel like arting tomorrow. No need to push yourself if it feels like too much right away.

okay. i know. i'm being blunt.. your going to feel like completely and utter SHIT tomorrow. even after you stop crying your going to still want to cry but you want to know something? if your furbaby was still around they would be cuddling and hugging and Sticking right by yourself to make sure you got through it so that you didn't suffer for long, it's just how animals are with their owner, as alone as you may feel, just remember that your not, no matter where your furbaby is they will always still be with you in not only your memories but in your heart as well. i still have my german shephard and 4 cats still with me, even if i can only feel them in spirit. hold your chin up high, let the feelings completely wash over you for the entire day, just take the day for yourself, and let them all go. you won't feel any better because of doing it, but you'll be able to get on with the things you know you NEED to do alot quicker if you just take a single day to let your emotions just take over. Tomorrow is going to be hard, so you do whatever you need to do to get through it, regardless of whatever anyone else thinks or says, don't feel guilty if all you feel like doing is curling up in bed and crying or if you want to do art or go sit somewhere and drink coffee, just please yourself.

I feel your pain. When my cats had to go I cried a lot and was feeling numb for a whole month after each passed away. And the pain doesn't go away either, it's just gets hidden by everything else and surfaces every time something triggers those memories. But remember, as damob99 said, your furbaby will still be there with you. I can still feel my cats around me and sometimes I see them in the corner of my eye or feel their tail touching my leg and to this day, that's 6 years now, I still say good night to them.

I know the feeling. I had to say goodbye to our Maine Coon/Calico mix, Jasmyn, on July 12th. Before she was taken to the vet to be put down (she was 18 at the time, and she was dying), I kissed her head one last time with tears running down my face. It's been a year and it still hurts, but it helps to remember the good times you had with them.
