Launching my PATREON page (CANCELLED)
Well this lasted nothing! but I'm not happy or excited about Patreon right now.
I dislike the way the stuff is delivered. I have to upload pics one by one, and patrons have to download them one by one as well, which seems a big waste of time, who wants to do that? and Over time, all the first posts I made will get lost, if you want to see something old, you'd need to scroll down forever ( but I guess I could solve it with tags). Still this doesn't fits too well with me, I like to organize things differently.
Another problem is the fact that the stuff I post would be easily stolen by those sites that let's you grab everything. My biggest issue with that is that it would be unfair for those of you that actually want to support me, while other ppl get all the same stuff you get, without paying.
I could solve those two issues by sharing the dropbox folder I use for my customers, however anyone can share the folder, and a person who just want to steal, will stop pledging and keep the access to the folder.
Having to make another folder for patreon isn't worth it either, it's a lot of time to invest, time I don't have, and because my Patron audience will be small. I don't feel like charging more than $1 to get these pictures either, it feels like I'm stealing.
This was a bad idea I had, and is giving me a lot of headaches, so I'll cancel it.
I'm launching my Patreon today. I'll be offering all the full-size pics in my Patreon from now.
Before you hate me, all the pics I draw will still be posted here, with no watermarks or anything, in 1080p quality as I usually do.
At the end of the year I'll share a folder with all the pictures done in 2018 in my Patreon, which means you can get them all for $1
I'll be sharing a folder with all my 2017 and OLDER works as well.
For $1 you get access to all the full-size pics I do.

Recommendation is delivering all content to your patrons via the private message system.
Right now I only have like 3 confirmed pledges, so a total of $3, I'm using my old Patreon account, the one I shared with Yaroul to do the YDCollabs thing, and I have some pledges from ppl who never removed them. I sent them a message about this (also Patreon doesn't lets me remove pledges)
So I guess I'll suck it up. Ppl who steal art won't support me anyway. Those who want to support me, will support me. I guess this will be unfair for those who actually support me. "Why support Drad if there is ppl getting this for free?" I'll try to figure something out at some point
As for delivering content over private message, this would of course create more work for you yes. Though I think what might help it is a bit of scheduling is all. Afaik Patreon shows you month by month your new subscribers so you could base your delivery off the same time frame, deliver content a to people group 1 and then a week later people group 2 subscribe and also want content a, they could wait until next push interval. I'm sure there could be a more simplified way to do this though, these kinds of things are admittedly not my strong point (among other things I have very large limitations with...)
But, high resolution for a single dollar, who would really be so cheap as to steal content like that to a theft site that I previously mentioned. Usually people put that behind 5 or even 10 dollar tiers. It's a good thing that these theft sites are rather anonymous in their function, we'd know who the real shitbags are in this community Or rather those who think they shouldn't have to pay for artwork (For Exposure on twitter, anyone? Golden page, worth following.) I would support for a whole dollar a month, heck yeah. On the assumption that I would feel like using patreon again after they pulled the stunt they did. (I might, who knows, if they smarten up)
You're fairly generous as it is, having already used to offer full sizes via dropbox link on here simply. What's a dollar for future releases for those who really want it?
It works well for me, but there are things that could be improved upon.
For people like you and I who try to organize as well as we can on websites like patreon, it's a a definite oversight.
I think I'll just offer an art pack at the end of the year with all the art I drew in 2018, for $10 or $15. There are platforms that let you sell digital stuff like that
For what I wanted to offer, it's not worth it
A commission could be a way of supporting me, yes, but not fully, it's still a service I do in exchange of money, and I'm actually registered as independent worker to do this, and I pay taxes. If no one wanted my art then there would be no art for you or anyone and I would get a different kind of job. But even if you commission me, my biggest issue is that unlike in most countries, where you make a transaction from Paypal to your bank account, I need to use a third party company to do that kind of transaction. So I lose like 10% of my earnings on fees, and the exchange conversion is the worst, not to mention they hold my money for 5 days.. I barely earn a decent monthly wage (for south american standars, that's it) Patreon would be a little extra bucks to help with that. I don't wanna raise my commission prices either because Im not skilled enough to charge for more, or at least I don't think it's fair for those who want to commission me. So offering the full sizes of the pics I drew for $1 a month was a good idea. But patreon sucks how it handles things for what I need. I'll just offer an art pack at the end of the year, with all the full resolutions.
