Be advised if you have not already heard of it, that there is theft sites that essentially login to a patron's account, and copy over all of what you have on your patreon, depending on what pledge tier that account is on. The patron allows the website to login to their patreon account, and it copies over the entire post. Preview image, linked files, description, even the comments.
Recommendation is delivering all content to your patrons via the private message system.

Yeah im aware of this, I think the other solution was to make patrons to pay whenever they pledge? however I dont have that option available yet

In any way I'm fucked, even if I send the pics personally to ppl, someone will share it if they wish. But the other problem is, let's say, I post a picture now, I send a link with the pic in private to my current patrons.. then tomorrow I get new pledges, I'll have to send them the pics to them as well, and every time I get new pledges in the next months, I'll have to send them all the old links over and over. I'd need to invest a lot of time, for little money. One solution could be to share a link to a dropbox folder, but still, anyone can share the link.

Right now I only have like 3 confirmed pledges, so a total of $3, I'm using my old Patreon account, the one I shared with Yaroul to do the YDCollabs thing, and I have some pledges from ppl who never removed them. I sent them a message about this (also Patreon doesn't lets me remove pledges)

So I guess I'll suck it up. Ppl who steal art won't support me anyway. Those who want to support me, will support me. I guess this will be unfair for those who actually support me. "Why support Drad if there is ppl getting this for free?" I'll try to figure something out at some point

You raise a valid point, people who want to support would gladly pledge. I know I would. However, patreon is getting really dodgy lately. Perhaps you heard about their plans to implement new fees on patron-side, a thing that should have existed since the beginning of the website so they wouldn't still be running off reserve funds for the past few years and being threatened with lawsuits from their investors for fraud. You should take into account that there's a chance that patreon could also cease it's services. I believe they will try and implement a new fee structure anyway since it was ill-thought to begin with, considering the lack of reasonable time of notification prior to implementation. I think it's safe to say that patreon is in a bit of damage control mode.

As for delivering content over private message, this would of course create more work for you yes. Though I think what might help it is a bit of scheduling is all. Afaik Patreon shows you month by month your new subscribers so you could base your delivery off the same time frame, deliver content a to people group 1 and then a week later people group 2 subscribe and also want content a, they could wait until next push interval. I'm sure there could be a more simplified way to do this though, these kinds of things are admittedly not my strong point (among other things I have very large limitations with...)

But, high resolution for a single dollar, who would really be so cheap as to steal content like that to a theft site that I previously mentioned. Usually people put that behind 5 or even 10 dollar tiers. It's a good thing that these theft sites are rather anonymous in their function, we'd know who the real shitbags are in this community Or rather those who think they shouldn't have to pay for artwork (For Exposure on twitter, anyone? Golden page, worth following.) I would support for a whole dollar a month, heck yeah. On the assumption that I would feel like using patreon again after they pulled the stunt they did. (I might, who knows, if they smarten up)

I don't believe so -- I think people who steal to other sites simply don't want to pay in general. I could be wrong in this, but it certainly would solve many issues. Unfortunately, they don't have that implemented yet for everyone, as far as I know. I could be wrong, though.

It works well for me, but there are things that could be improved upon.

I will simply say, patreon has a lot it needs to improve on if it wants to avoid being eaten alive by it's investors.

I re-read the journal post-edit and I have to agree, patreon's not all that friendly to it's users when you consider the user interface. While it may have a method to sort out posts by year/month, I actually don't know if it does because I've not found one so it's always been endless scrolling, painful waiting for things to load before I can resume scrolling, to see the start of the upload log from the page host. For a lot of content sharers, it becomes a question of "is this really worth the few dollars I pledge so I can see a post from a year ago out of 600 something posts but would also take half a day to scroll to and even find?"
For people like you and I who try to organize as well as we can on websites like patreon, it's a a definite oversight.

Nah no one tips artists like that, in very rare occassions if you are lucky enough.
I think I'll just offer an art pack at the end of the year with all the art I drew in 2018, for $10 or $15. There are platforms that let you sell digital stuff like that

It really depends. I support an artist called Marco Bucci cause his videos helped me a lot with my art. Plus he offered his audiobook which was great, as I couldn't get the physical version here.

I prefer to support artists by actually buying art from them. Why would I pay my little hard earned money just to see someone else's commissions? Personally its a way for people to milk more money from others and I highly disagree with it. What ever happened to normal commissions? (Not saying you do this but I notice this frequently with other big name artists).

Well yeah, I don't see the point of your comment as I wasn't gonna do that. I still post the stuff I draw, in the same resolutions I always posted.

A commission could be a way of supporting me, yes, but not fully, it's still a service I do in exchange of money, and I'm actually registered as independent worker to do this, and I pay taxes. If no one wanted my art then there would be no art for you or anyone and I would get a different kind of job. But even if you commission me, my biggest issue is that unlike in most countries, where you make a transaction from Paypal to your bank account, I need to use a third party company to do that kind of transaction. So I lose like 10% of my earnings on fees, and the exchange conversion is the worst, not to mention they hold my money for 5 days.. I barely earn a decent monthly wage (for south american standars, that's it) Patreon would be a little extra bucks to help with that. I don't wanna raise my commission prices either because Im not skilled enough to charge for more, or at least I don't think it's fair for those who want to commission me. So offering the full sizes of the pics I drew for $1 a month was a good idea. But patreon sucks how it handles things for what I need. I'll just offer an art pack at the end of the year, with all the full resolutions.

Well American wages aren’t great either. Where I live you need to work 80 hours per week just to afford a small apartment. But as far as art packs, I think that’s a good idea. I’ve purchased art packs before. I feel safer buying one thing rather than a monthly payment sorts thing

That sounds like the place you live is for high class ppl only o_O, considering US minimum wage is $10+ a hour (it's $2,7 usd in Argentina )

Lol where I live is for lowers class. High class homes are like quadruple. You’d need to make like 100,000$ a year or something
