But also i got the same feeling where people who make art who i like are getting attention but my art isnt getting any attention

It's not so much the attention, it's more that the people who are closest to me are basically telling me how my art is inferior and childish and how I'm not even an 'artist'

I like your art, Spencer. I'd probably offer a trade if I had the time... And actually considered my art to be worth anything. =w=

I'm sure your art is worth something! That's the main reason why I'm depressed about it though; the people who matter most to me have been telling me off and saying my art isn't even art.

Well, art has a rather wide range, from drawing, to writing, to sculptures and even cooking. Just because it's not top quality in comparison to others doesn't mean it's not worth to be considered art.
According to the wiki, "Art is a diverse range of human activities in creating visual, auditory or performing artifacts (artworks), expressing the author's imaginative or technical skill, intended to be appreciated for their beauty or emotional power."
Just give it your best, make something with your own skills and imagination, show it to people so they can enjoy it and you'll be making art. It's not about the quality, it's about showing people what your skills, feelings and abilities are.

I feel for you Spence, and I know that you've been having lots of troubles lately, but you should never just give up. When you compare your art to that of those with better programs and who have been practicing for maybe even years longer than you, you just become discouraged. If you want to think about other's art, don't compare, but instead be inspired. Don't be discouraged and give up when things get tough. You can do it!

I try never to compare myself with others because I know the outcome of that, but it's a different story when others do that job for you and approach you to tell you that your art isn't even art and that you're no artist, which is what some people who I considered close to me did. And since it was people I considered very close friends, it hit a lot deeper than it should have.

It really disturbs me when people you're close to do that. I-I think we should get to know each other better. I know that I love your art and will stand by that statement. Being at an early stage as an artist myself, I know how it can feel.

I'd offer to trade again, I'm just rather busy with some projects currently and right now struggling with motivation again[Hope it's just a short unmotivated phase ^^"]
I think every art style is great in it's very own way because every art style is somehow unique. I love your art style. It's often a question about what you wanna draw as well.
In my case, I know my art style is far from being good, but I think it kinda fits to the vore stuff I draw. I'm not a great artist myself but my style fits pretty well to it's purpose and that makes me go on ^-^
There are always people who like it and some who dislike it becuase if art is good is always up to the viewers eye, everyone has a different opinion.
Beside of that, art should be something you enjoy and not something you just do because you get paid for it or in general others told you to do it ((Likw in trades or so)).
You can draw what you want, there are no limits :3

My art style is not so good, I am very critical about it, but it fits pretty well to it's purpose and since people seem to like it and I draw more for fun instead of imporving in the first place I can ignore these mistake~
Plus, every once in a while I can do something that looks pretty good to me xD Always nice to see sometimes I evenn get something done very well ^^

That's how I usually try to feel, but it's a bit harder when it's other people you are close to who tell you you have no potential and aren't even an 'artist' at all

No. Seriously. I just came from a depressed artist whom thinks his art stinks, because this FA place is creating so few stats. It's the bloody interface and how it's subtly changing. Scrolling through thumbnails that show enough and don't need a personal zoom.

Your art is good. Don't let idiot numbers mean a thing.

It's not so much the stats (I've come to expect low views and comments since I do a lot of the same thing at times and it's a very niche fetish), it's more that the people who are closest to me are giving me the most depressing 'meh' responses to the things I do for them, and even some tell me that I 'need to improve' and constantly show me examples of how my art fails in comparison to 'X'-artist's work. It's just hurtful when the people who you think support you the most drop such a bombshell like that, and anyone else who might like it usually silently lurk and never let me know personally, y'know? It all makes me feel so alone...

Oh...that kind of feedback is harsh. I feel you on that point. FA can, once again, take some of the blame. After all, this place is inundated with talent. Way too easy to pick a specific category and get dozens/hundreds/thousands of pics, all compiled at once. Tons of talented people, putting regular amounts of work into this place, 24/7. And it's all too...Human...to want to judge pieces and pit them against each other. Which isn't fair. I mean, unless you were intentionally placing works into a judging contest. Which this place is not suppose to be. Alas, people will judge, even when they fail to have two pennies in their pocket. That's just a fact of internet...and real...life.

I'm not sure if my condition could be said as an improvement now that my entire body is always in constant pain, but the surgery was deemed 'successful' at least. Also GWS-charizard went missing I don't know where they went :< *urp*

Just because some artists on this site post art that gets more attention than your’s does not make your art bad. I, and many other, think your art is great!
