If I may ask, what do you - want- to do and hope to achieve? You have such talent and work so hard so it would be great to see you flourish and enjoy doing what you love to do.
What do you want to see in your gallery? Because from my standpoint I see an artist was very confident in line work. That is something and a skill that I cannot hope to achieve.
You have a quite a few of these negative bursts when it comes to your art. I feel that there must be some catalyst. Otherwise, it may come as a surprise to you but figuratively speaking, -all- artists carry self doubt when it comes to their art. Sometimes there might not be VISUAL representations of improvement but there are other manifestations of improvement. IE maybe your result is the same as something you did before but mayhaps your SPEED at which you get it done is faster. Maybe your POSE is more dynamic that before. Maybe your color pallet is more vivid.
If you still feel down about your art, then CHANGE what you do as artistic practice and then look to your peers to get some critique. Fellow artists can help point out things that you did well and things you could change to improve it. Take what is said more as a memo for the next time you do it though. Otherwise you can and will go crazy fixing everything because guess what? Almost every artist struggles to know when an art piece is DONE or not.
If you really want some help, I be happy to help and suggest exercise. It might take you beyond your comfort zone but you would be able learn new things both in art and techniques.
You have a lot of these personal hangups where you are constantly putting yourself down. The first time I met you was one such time BUT, you also told me that you were in a friendship crisis. What started this spiral this time?
Please understand...You are also in highschool. You are developing your sense of self and style. It may seem like nothing is going well and everything is a disaster. You are living in the midst of it so you can't see the end but I promise you later on you will look back at these formative years and realize that you have grown a lot due to those trials.
So I ask again. What do you want? What do you hope to achieve?
Lastly, rather than say "Sorry, I am [negative reinforcement here]", you could try to just say something that describes the situation. "I am still confused. Could you explain again?" By saying "I'm dumb" it cuts off chances of growth and conversation because you have supplied and reinforced a negative conclusion on yourself.
Look. Your Turian that I bought is one of my favorite characters. I may not get much art of her done, but she's still wonderfully designed, drawn, and colored. I honestly wish I could draw. I'd save a ton of money if I could. But I don't have the spark. Hell, I'm barely competent at story writing. Please, don't give up. It's fine to get discouraged every once in a while. But I didn't buy Meli out of pity. I bought her out of appreciation.
I know how you feel, I wanna give up a lot at times too. Going through a lot of shit myself. But neither me nor you can give up, we will have a lot to do, both of us. We'll get through this together I promise
Ey. Stop being so hard on yourself. I promise you have so much more skill than you think you do! There are people that absolutely adore your content, like myself! And others that have commented here. So please, don’t be so hard on yourself. I don’t know why you feel that way, but I promise you that you do have a lot of skill!
