Yes folks, it’s finally time! After nearly a year of seclusion, the Mitch has returned and it’s time to celebrate! But how does the Mitch celebrate? With his first-ever $10 Sketch Commission Sale!
No, you’re not dreaming, so don’t pinch yourself (unless you’re into that sort of thing), it’s really happening. Following in the footsteps of nearly every other artist on FA, I’m going to open up FIVE, count ‘em, FIVE sketch commission slots at only $10 per each!
You might be asking yourself, “Where did I leave my keys?” and I can’t help you with that. But if you’re asking yourself, “How can I obtain one of these rare, sparkling jewel-nuggets?” I CAN help you with that!
If you send me a note on this, my
mongooseink account, with what you want, and links to any character reference images, and if you’re able to PayPal me ten dollars, you can be in the running for a $10 sketch commission!
But wait, in the running, you ask? Yes, in the running. As you may have guessed, I’m not quite like a lot of other artists, and my commission queue works a little differently than most. Please read the following CAREFULLY for IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
My queue works on a “First-Come, First-Considered,” basis. This means that just because you might have been the first to send me a note, that doesn’t mean you’re guaranteed to get a commission. (Though you will have higher priority than those that follow.) I will then go through my incoming notes, and choose from among them the ones that most interest me, and that I feel I can do the best job on. If you don’t get picked, please don’t feel bad, my tastes change on a whim, so there’s a good shot that those who don’t get through this time will get through next time.
And before anyone starts to whine, let me say this, I DON’T PLAY FAVORITES. I WILL review the list from the first person to message me down to the last. The early birds have a better chance, but I may say, “I’m sorry, but not this time,” to some of them anyway. If you take a look through my gallery, you can probably get a good feel for what interests me. Here’s a hint: playing to the judge never hurts, but please don’t sacrifice what you want just because you think I won’t pick it. I want to know what you want me to draw, but please respect my choices of the five commissions I’m going to take this time around. It is never personal, I assure you.
Now, on to the boiled down brass tacks of all this:
*I have five sketch commissions slots open at this time.
*Each sketch is $10.
*Send me a note with a description of what you want, as well as any links to reference images if possible.
*Just because you noted me first does not mean you are guaranteed.
*Send all requests to mongooseink
What you will get, if chosen:
*The high-res scan of a pencil sketch of your character (please only one character at this time, I’ll warm up to multiples later.)
*Your piece will be done and emailed to you within 48 hours of receipt of payment.
*The chance to give me ten dollars. You know you want to.
What happens to those not chosen:
*My apologies, I may have just not been feeling it at this time, but I encourage you to try again next time, and every time again after that.

Now, time for THE RULES:
Each sketch will be in pencil, and moderately detailed. Sorry, as these are sketches I might not be able to get every speck of detail in there, but I’ll do what I can.
One character per sketch.
I reserve the right to deny requests based on content. This means, please keep it at or under a PG-13 rating. Usually I’ll make exceptions up to R for action violence, but those don’t always suit me. And, sorry, no, I don’t draw herms, please don’t ask. And as warning, I REALLY, REALLY SUCK AT DRAGONS!
Don’t whine. If you whine, I will hold it against you in the future. Yes I know that contradicts what I said earlier, but if you whine and moan about not getting picked, that’s really not going to encourage me to pick you later. Let’s be grown-up about this, please.
If I accept, I will note you back with the PayPal address to send $10 US to. Once payment is received, I will begin work immediately.
If I do not accept your request at this time, I will send you a form-letter style note expressing my condolences, and encourage you to try again next time.

madmarten but now I have pulled both together into my finished art account mongooseink. All my sketches and concept work are posted to 
mongooseinklings, and the sketch commissions I take will be posted there, for future reference.
