How do you like to fund fan art?

My dream is to create art & commissions for the rest of my life. I am hoping to get involved in drawing more fan art in the near future, and for those who like to fund it, what is your favorite way of doing so?
Just a few examples I've seen others do: Fund via Patreon, get access to voting for $1, or vote with a $1. Or an auction where once a certain amount is met, it unlocks tiers of completion, etc
There are certainly a lot of different ways to go about this! What is your favorite way?
