Anyone who says nasa is a waste of money is a christian or some other science hating faction! :O

I recall something about nasa trying to figure out warp drives as well, doing tests on a micro scale trying to get it working and blah. :P Unfortunately, they aren't likely to get enough funding to actually do anything good. I mean we had the chance to begin terraforming Mars a long time ago but we never initiated it cause the costs and such, now we're on a dying planet and can't wait for terraforming to work. :P

That's a bit generalizing. :c There's plenty of Christians who treat science with an agnostic eye.

I live in an area full of them and they all treat science the same way. So thats how I see them. They also regularly tell me I'm going to burn in hell and I'm banned from the property of one of my friends cause they found out I'm "gay" (rather, I don't care about gender but in their eyes its gay). When you live near a group of people who are all like that, and every one you encounter is the same, thats where you form your generalizations.

So keeping the cycle of hate going is a priority above all?

Yeah, those people are definitely messed up and have their ideals set up all wrong, but to brush an entire group by treating them as the standard is just... unpleasant.

I never specified any sort of hate. I simply made a snarky remark about Christians hating science. If I was being 100% serious, I wouldn't have ended my sentence with an emoticon.

Saying religious people hate NASA is a very broad and hasty generalization.

We still don't even know if we can Terraform Mars in large part because of the lack of a magnetic field strong enough to protect against solar wind and all that jazz.

I rcall watching something as a kid, they had some plant and some tree that grows in very harsh conditions that they could ship to Mars to start the transforming process, but they never did cause of money required to do so. I hardly remember anything about it though.

If if they could grow in the soil, the atmosphere and the uv radiation would still be a problem.
