Both prominent eyelashes and non-mammalian breasts are A-OK in my book.

I'm indifferent, female or effeminate characters can look cute with or without them. Though I suppose it'd make sense to give them eyelashes if they're dolled up in makeup.

i love boobs so i put them on EVERYTHING... also eyelashes.
I dont go too far with them but i def like both and have no problem to see them with a limit. :D

if it appeals to you and does not appear to physically hurt anybody, continue doing it! it seems to suit the character designs well, so there isn't really a negative aspect to it. it also looks quite nice!

If people want realism, furry art is probably not the right place to look for it. Theoretically I obey the "eyelashes = femme" rule in my art, out of tradition more than anything else, but in practice, I keep forgetting to draw those in and/or design characters with eyes that don't have them, even in situations where logically they would have visible eyelashes (for example, a character implied to wear makeup, who could easily wear eyelash extentions.)

Depends on the characters personality, and less with the actual gender IMO!!!

I have definitely seen arbitrary application of eyelashes on female characters that are plainly not meant to be perceived as "cute!"

I like them! They're cartoony and fun. They remind me of old cartoons that'd give female characters huge eyelashes or a big bow on their head to make them female.

I saw a YouTube video using a bow to signify feminine grammatical gender. Bears, Tigers, ok... but also boats and other inanimate things. LOL.

I'm a fan of them. I think they can pretty up just about anything with eyes. They might not make a lot of sense unless the characters are deliberately using cosmetics to achieve that look, but I wouldn't say it comes anywhere close to bothering me.

Obvious big eyelashes are a "Secondary Sexual Charicataristic" for our current Cartoon-Art Tropes. After a certain point in learning cartooning, it is one of those tropes that is helpful for a cartooner to be aware of. Knowing that such conventions exist is helpful in cartooning, helpful in commercial art, helpful in fine art, and even helpful in real life. Conngratulations.

I rather like them, it's a quality I wish I had (good eyelashes), so I like to put it on my characters when I remember to. <:3

Large eyelashes are likely to be less offensive than boobs.

I'm guilty as charged. I do that with pretty much every female character of mine. Much more subtle than adding breasts or lipstick to each female character, or making them wear clothes associated with femininity like dresses or bows. It's just a simple cartoonist trick.

Cartoons and cartoon opinions are probably a culture unto themselves. People will get what they need out of it, hopefully.

With anthro: it's character by character basis. Not all female-types have long lashes and not all male-types have short. I think it can be a cool defining characteristic of certain characters, but to blantfully add butterflies to the lids of all your female/breasty characters can be somewhat obnoxious to me. (vary them, y0!)

With feral artwork, which I know you're not generally asking about: with lion king / balto or any other type of feral artwork, it does irk me a bit that most artists/designers use that to solely define the character as female by just adding lashes. Imho it's a lazy tactic and makes many of the characters look too similar - like putting pink collars on to signify this dog is 'female'

in the end: personal preference boils down to what scenerio I'm drawing a character in - and if it's a defining characteristic. (Nash, for instance, only seems to sport lashes in seductive/moody phases whereas other moods has a more ambiguously gendered face, if that's such a thing.)

Theoretically it is possible, though ludicrously improbable and probably cruel for a feral animal to be made to wear makeup. It is even sillier to see done with dinosaurs, which predate the existence of makeup and would not have even had natural eyelashes.

I don't mind them! Any character can have them, especially if they are supposed to be "pretty" Although, if they aren't supposed to be natural, it is something someone has done to enhance their looks, which might be implied or not depending on the setting of the character.

Its not as goofy as my favorite: Silly cartoon bow a la ms. pac man :>
