** NEW PAYMENT PROCESS FOR PRODUCTS
7 years ago
Due to having a very huge issue with my PP account , I'm going to be making an immediate transition to using other methods of receiving payments. These sites do not accept payments from PP accounts-but they will accept bank/credit/debit based transactions.
I will be working on using these sites/apps in the near future
Squareup / Cash App / Cash.me :: https://squareup.com/help/us/en/art.....-with-cash-app
Commiss.io :: https://support.commiss.io/getting-.....first-purchase
You do not need to have an account on any of these sites/apps to pay for your purchases from me . All you will need to fill in is your credit/debit card information ! Very fast and safe!
Thank you all so much for your understanding and patience during all this. I'm expecting this to be a rough transition since many are very comfortable with making purchases through PP already, and not so much with their banks/cards. I hope this will go smoothly regardless !

Edit* Ahhh, read your tweets on the subject. That's so rough, considering so many don't want their names known on the net. ; - ; so sorry that happened!
Let us know how this transition works out for you.
Thank you so much and I’ll definitely be sure to keep this updated on how it’s going ! ;v; /
Hoping this move goes well though !
i use ALL their online services. I even use them as an online bank, and have their debit card, and its been nothing but a blessing for me. I have taken out loans with them more than once and love their customer service.
Utilizing everything the site has to offer doesn’t exclude you from a lot of the issues people are encountering while having worked with the site (which I’m sure you’re aware of).
I don’t make this journal to frighten anyone from the site or suggest anyone to stop using it . I don’t know if you’re actually unaware of the issues people are having with PayPal or you’re just stating that “nothing has happened to me so I don’t see the problem “ but either way -not trying to argue
i have seen other people arise with issues against paypal, but it seems to me that all of them are based on the fact that people just didnt follow the rules.
i read your twitter posts about the issue, and i TOTALLY agree that they should have allowed you access to your funds. once you could prove that it was you with address, emails, phone and transaction proof, they should have unlocked your money and let you have it.
however the problem that arose was that you had a non-legal name set as your information within your account.
dont get me wrong, im not saying 'holy shit how dare you' cause i too go by a name that isnt the one i was assigned at birth, being a trans man.
but anytime you deal with something on the legal level, like dealing with money and business, you have to be very cautious of the rules, because companies will shaft you so hard in an instant.
i feel like, to make this easier on PP as well as its users, they need to make the rules easier to read, easier to access, and they need to be more understanding.
i dont know if its rude of me to ask, or if you had thought of it, but did you ask the customer service if you could possibly throw some ideas their way on how other customers could avoid this issue in the future? sounds like they need to hand out warnings, or do like, a monthly email that reminds users of their agreements?
when i had an issue, the person i spoke with thru email was actually very understanding, and took my ideas into consideration and i saw INSTANT improvement within just one email conversation. And im just a little 'ol artist who dosnt even make 2k a month.
idk im just spitballin' and rambling here.
your totally warranted in this. they shouldn't hold funds [especially at that high an amount] from you for ANY period of time, especially when they can see that PP and commissions is your way of life.
i wasnt trying to make it seem like 'well you fucked up so PP is in the right'
i had just seen similar issues arise, and this was the first time i thought to comment and have a conversation about it~
no ill feelings meant at all~
My big problem with PP is only because I was not informed of this being an issue , my account was interacted with by staff multiple times with no alert to this happening -I did make multiple efforts to change my name to my legal name , with no response - and at one point my account was verified after I submitted proper identify information -and still this happened. I would have gladly used my legal name if it was made aware to me that this was a consequence of me using a fandom name.
Like I'm honestly just terrified and upset for folks that could be uninformed of this - and just get screwed so hard with no way to recover from it. ;;
When you make a paypal account - your legal name isn't required and is preferred, y'know? I also made my account back when this probably wasn't even a BIG issue but still- It's a choice and I suffered greatly for a very small mistake that many do for various valid reasons (like you stated with dead names and etc). The fact that there was no way to fix this other than to sit and wait is something not many want to even have the possibility of encountering.
But no I completely agree and that's really what I urged for while sharing my experience on Twitter. Make that stuff clear cause people put their entire life savings in their accounts y know? PP is allowed to shut down an account flat for any reason while having the right to not inform you of why and that's huge. That miscommunication is fatal and is a huge risk , especially with there being no way to fix it after it's been done.
OH NO It's not rude at all! I did go through the process of sharing my thoughts with customer service. They were very kind , professional -and relayed to me what was happening and informed me that there was nothing to be done. Many forget that there are people behind those screens , and I made sure to thank everyone I spoke with afterwards. The representatives I spoke with even expressed their frustration and sympathy with what was happening to me during the whole thing. Even now I'm praying that they at least make legal names a requirement so no one else has to suffer like this.
I appreciate being able to hear this though . Unfortunately when you share these kind of experiences online - you get a lot of people that are sticklers for the rules, so many just write you off as an idiot for getting into a pickle because of a common mistake ;v; I wish I didn't have to have such a tough time with paypal , cause I do really enjoy using the service and I know a lot of people rely on paypal for purchases so this isn't going to be easy - but it'll make me feel more comfortable , so I'M SURE IT'LL BE WORTH ITTT
i HATE going by my legal name personally, but its been set in my paypal for.....7 years now? back before i knew i was trans, so i havnt run into this issue, and im SO glad i dont have to deal with it
i would be a anxious mess if i had to go thru all this like you did.
more power to you for handling it the best you could, and for trying everything to get them to work with you.
i really think PP is being so strict simply because it IS a legal matter, and it involves transfering of money, which can get really messy sometimes.
overall, like i mentioned, i wish they would have taken steps to warn you. thats totally THEIR fault that this happened, it seems.
gosh i hope switching payment options works out for you! truth be told, i have thought about looking into other options cause i know, although rare, there ARE people who just dont wanna, or cant, use PP, even tho its an overall very open service.
as long as you keep doing the good good, i think it will be worth it yo!! i know ill still be here as a follower, and hopfully a customer in the next few months. always wanted art from you lol
IM RAMBLING AGAIN BUT I WANTED TO SAY BEST OF LUCK WITH THIS CHOICE!
Thanks for being civil and talking about the issue! I honestly wasnt even aware that they were that strict. Ill know to watch my own back now too
