Curious Cat, Twitter, and Other Things [Closed]
This is such a stupid thing, but on my Curious Cat profile, I dared answer the question 'You voted for Donald Trump, right? Do you still support him?' with something other than 'No, I hate Trump! He's the Anti-Christ and civilization as we know it is coming to an end!' I should have went with my gut and deleted it without answering, but I didn't. Wasn't that stupid of me. Now I have people 'calling me out' on Twitter like they caught me with my hand in the cookie jar or something.
Politics are something I generally do not talk about because they are so polarizing. It always ends in a fight, and nobody ever changes anyone else's mind. I haven't talked about politics on here since I posted this journal after the election, so I do not know why or how this came about.
This isn't going to be as long as my last political journal, because I still stand by everything I said before, and I'm not sorry now. YES, I think Trump is doing an 'alright job.' While he's made some mistakes in my opinion and I do not agree with everything he's done, he has done a lot of good for this country and our economy, and I think he gets an unfair rep from the media. As I said last time, major news outlets are to blame for how volatile and touchy a subject this has become. A few years ago nobody even cared about this stuff and now it's all anyone wants to talk about. If you don't agree with someone 100% then you've got a fight on your hands. It's stupid, and I hate it.
Political beliefs are but one minor facet of a person. Or they should be. If you put so much stock into this stuff that you let it rule your life then I feel sorry for you.
As with last time, this is not an invitation for debate. I just wanted to throw this out there. I will not be responding to any comments to this journal, regardless of their nature.
Edit: Closed comments for the journal. It's getting late and I don't want to wake up tomorrow to a whole slew of notifications.

We would've had made America great again if Hillary were elected because I know she would help us all. Yes Virno, keep ingoring those questions, they wanna bash you for not voting for Trump if you been honest with them. That really pissed me off.
Will agree that I don't like how much American politics infest everything, though. Especially seeing as I don't live in the United States. Still, American politics have a significant effect on Canadian politics, and moreover, I'm a dual citizen.
Not sure what you're looking at for news sources, but if your idea of "Alright job" is economic improvement, he's done a pretty spectacular job at failing on that front. Same with healthcare, same with... well... everything he's put his name on, really. I'm not here to fight on politics, but if you're going to make statements and explain then your rationale... And that rationale is based on incorrect or false information, you're going to be called out for it.
Read the WSJ if you don't believe me on the trade war thing. It's one Rupert Murdoc's publications, AKA the owner of Fox. When they're calling Trump out on an economic fuckup, you know he's done something wrong.
If THE WALL STREET JOURNAL... OWNED BY THE OWNER OF FOX... HATES A REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT...
"Gee, the owner of the most supportive network of the president, has another publication that hates the president for his economics, maybe the president is fucking up pretty hard on economics."
I practice medicine, but reading is a side thing. I like the WSJ's perspective on things, ergo I read the WSJ when I've got the time to do so.
Do we want to credential or source police? Or are you going to make a counterpoint?

HUH... sure looks like the US dollar is getting weaker...
Lets looks at LIFE EXPECTANCY: Huh, dropping
What about Average income for non 200k earners? No gain... huh?
What about cost of living: What do you know? It's on the rise...
What about net assets of the bottom 80%... Huh... sure looks those are on the decline...
HMMMM....
It's almost like the President of the US is a terrible fucking president not looking out for his citizenry.
"Hun" you're barking up the wrong tree there.
As for emotional, I think you're reading a bit too much into my snide and biting monotone.
You're providing the feelings, I'm providing the facts.
"Well what people tell me"
That's what we call Anecdotes in science, and you take Statistics over Anecdotes.
The Statistics say, you're OBJECTIVELY wrong, regardless of your subjective information. I thought you were asking me to be more objective, who knew you projected so much?
"I want facts over feels" - is disproven
"I don't like your facts" - is disproven
"I Have secret facts you can't see"
It almost sounds like you've backpedaled every step of the way, and you don't have anything of substance to say. A brief look at the US vs publicly available info on https://www.statcan.gc.ca/eng/start sure seems to suggest you don't know shit about what you're talking about.
Funny that.
Huh, compelling argument.
I've taken a source that is on the supporting side of my argument. A source that's known for looking into things for their economic ties with a conservative bend.
You on the other hand, have no source, while asking me to be OBJECTIVE?!
OBJECTIVE, IE BASING ON FACTS. FACTS I HAVE PROVIDED FROM A SOURCE THAT HAS A BEND IN FAVOR OF THE PRESIDENT AND STILL CALLS IT A DISASTER
You have given nothing but FEELINGS. You're being SUBJECTIVE. If you can't provide a source, why are you still trying to argue? You've lost by your own standards of argument. The facts say, by what's been provided "President is fucking up the economy" and by OP's standard of "alright job" that means... Not an alright job.
TADAH! LOGIC.
