Gonna Build My First Gaming PC

So, like the heading says, I'm gonna start working on building my first gaming PC ^^
I've been interested in doing this for years now, but never had the financial ability to do so. I do think now though that I can start working on making this come true!
Luckily I'm not going in this totally blind. I've watched several of my friends build their own gaming PCs and have done some research into it. Plus, I've already got some decent background knowledge of what brands to look for in terms of which company to get the parts from.
However, is there any tips or tricks you all have? Any of you built one before? I'd love to know! I'll gladly take any advice before I start down this fun (and expensive) adventure xD

I've been lucky to have those friends give me some pointers as well as being the tech guru for my family, so I'm feeling pretty knowledgeable about this
