Guys, I know I’ve had to tell people about this multiple times, but, it’s apparently not enough times to get through to some of the more thick fucks. So, here we go again: Facts are NOT opinions. And facts DO NOT care about your feelings.
Today I had someone try to argue this with me over math. MATH. To skip all the details: Someone said that a PVE item was always better than a PVP item. No exception. (In the same level bracket) Simply because “It’s a PVE item.”
Now, just roughly: The average pve item you could get had: +60 stamina, +50 primary attribute and +40 secondary attribute.
In comparison, the average pvp item you could get had: +140 stamina, +90 primary attribute, two +50 secondary attributes, and +50 pvp attribute.
Sure, the +50 pvp does nothing. (unless you played a tank) But, that still doesn’t go around the fact that it literally is better in every regard. There’s no room for “But!”, “That’s like, your opinion, man.” or “If that’s what you think.” these are simple numbers. There’s no way to bend or twist this. One example is simply superior in every regard.
It’d be like saying you prefer sunkern over sceptile with the reasoning “I prefer fast grass type pokemon.” when playing locked 50 brackets, no items, no weather. Like... again, in this scenario: there’s 0 ways for one to beat the other in speed. There’s no room for discussion. This ain’t no corrupt media fake “debate” between a incorrect position and the truth where they go “Who’s right? Who’s wrong? You decide!” xP
If it’s a discussion about personal preference. Then sure. But not when it’s about what’s objectively better. Facts aren’t subjective. At least not when talking about cold, hard numbers ;3
Likewise: Incompetence is NOT a style. A lack of skill isn’t considered a “technique” or a “style” overall.
You need to know basic anatomy in order to know what you are changing, in order to “make it your own”. Being unable to do something, isn’t the same as stylistically choosing to change an aspect of something.
Like, anime eyes is a decent example. That’s a stylistic choice. However, doing something like: Giving ALL your characters sunglasses as your “preference” in order to avoid having to draw eyes, is not. That’s just you being a lazy fuck, refusing to learn how to draw eyes. It’s not an “artistic choice”. Especially not if you’ve not once have ever drawn eyes before. Now this ofc can be applied to anything. But that felt like a simple enough example.

I had one with an argument about mods. They insisted that mods destroy a game and shorten their life span, objectively, their only reasoning seemed to be that "I don't like them". But the facts are on the table, we have communities making mods and new maps to Doom to this day, as in, a game that is over two decades old. How is that a shortening of it's life span?

OP
Yeah, a lot of people seem to be "fuck the evidence, I have feelings!"
