...and my desktop just died.

So yeah. This evening after I'd returned from grocery shopping I turned my desktop on hoping to work on some stories (after eating dinner) it just died. Just like that, shut off without warning and wouldn't turn back on. Even when I pulled out the power cord and plugged it back in it wouldn't turn on. Completely dead. It is over ten years old, so I guess something had to go eventually. Most likely it's the power supply.
I've had this happen before - eleven years ago with an even older computer system (Asus A7N8X-Deluxe motherboard and Socket A processor). In that case the power supply went kaput and fried the motherboard as well. I really hope it didn't fry the motherboard this time.
So replies will be a little more sporadic, but I do have two backup systems plus my smartphone. (My mini HP desktop, and my Toshiba laptop).

Dang, I had that happen to me too. The computer I first used was over 10 years old.
That sucks...reminds me of when something similar happened on my end...

Sorry to hear that, but yeah if you had something for a while, eventually one thing or another will start to become less reliable.
