Question about patreon

How do you choose when to be a patron for an artist? And are you a patron for someone now?
I'm not ready to open my own patreon, I just don't understand how does this work xD

People who I buy from, I generally tend to subscribe to them on patreon if I buy a lot

I subscribe to a friend's patreon, it gets me a guaranteed commission slot, plus I'm happy to support a friend so she can keep doing art and making comics.

I personally like the ability to get PSDs, so that's what I look for. Also if a game is releasing, and they give patrons the option of testing it. Tutorials are nice as well. HD sizes of art doesn't really do anything for me, since scaled down versions usually convey the work pretty well, and seeing other people's commissioned art end up on Patreon makes me kinda feel bad.

I like supporting friends, and people who make good comics. I also appreciate a bit of a discount or pin up raffles which encourages me to pick higher tiers.
